Why do I need this Product?
There are many reasons you might need vitamin supplements. Our bodies are assaulted by free radicals every day. Pollution has increased 600% over the last 10 years. And its not getting any better. A free radical is an atom with an uneven number of electrons. These pollutants steal electrons from healthy cells causing their death. Your body combats these oxidising agents with antioxidants. Unfortunately, as pollution levels increase out of control and our dietary habits slide even further into "unhealthy", our bodies are unable to fight off the onslaught. The results are a degeneration of vital organs within the body. Free radicals have been linked to over 28 degenerative diseases such as cancer, coronary heart disease, diabetes, athsma, even Alzheimers.
Over the past 100 years dietary habits have changed. Today I think it is fair to say that people are eating too much of the bad and not enough of the good. Tests have shown that only 9% of the US population achieve the RDAs (Recommended Dietary Allowances) every day. This is not surprising considering that the nutritional content of foods is reducing every year. Did you know that in 1948 you could buy spinach that had 158 mg of iron per 100grams. But by 1965 the maximum iron they could find had dropped to 27mg. In 1973 it was averaging 2.2. That means today youd have to eat 75 bowls of spinach to get the same amount of iron from that one bowl back in 1948. This is very alarming news.
The reasons for this are numerous. From the farm to the fork food undergoes many battles before it reaches your plate. Many foods are subjected to nitrates, pesticides, fertilisers in the soil; freezing, preservatives, salting, boiling, frying, microwaving, and even after the food has been cooked it is almost always flavoured to mask over the taste of mass production. Whats even worse is that this type of food is considered to be healthy. The alternatives, fast foods such as McDonalds, KFC and Burger King, and soft drinks such as Coke and Diet Coke have been shown to have some of the lowest nutritional values available in the world today.
On the other hand, mass production has also created mass destruction. We have spent years pumping massive amounts of cancerous smoke into our atmosphere and pouring millions of litres of radioactive garbage into our oceans. Our crops are covered in poisonous pesticides, our cattle suffer from repeated grazing, and our water is heavily treated. To make matters worse, the huge increase in population has required more land and more furniture. The result has seen almost 70% of the Earths natural rainforests systematically annihilated in less than 20 years. Unfortunately, these rainforests have been responsible for over half of the worlds oxygen supply. Oxygen is the main substance that protects the Earth from the sun. The list goes on and on...
Lets face it we all live in an unhealthy environment. We all take our heath for granted. But life can be cruel for those who are not well prepared. Good supplements will give your body the antioxidant firepower it requires to defend itself against the destructive forces of man-made pollution.
