How can you make health care safer for you?
Don't sign away your benefits to anyone unless you have to!
I can imagine the scenario in which someone might have to: when their medication costs are beyond anything that they can afford. At that point one would be faced with having to discontinue important medications because of their cost. At that point - and only at that stage - would I suggest seeking out a staff- model HMO, or a university-based HMO (there are none in Phoenix, however) or even seek county assistance.
But if you are talking about a choice between the priority of your health care, and maybe giving up a trip to Laughlin, or the casino, or a cruise, or a luxury car... don't give up your health care benefits, and don't support the evil system I have seen. Support the politics of having a choice in your health care, such as tax-free medical accounts. Stay informed as consumers.
Protect yourselves - and stay well.
