Technology Industry Foundation and 3Com Corp. Make Donation to Cystic Fibrosis Research

PALO ALTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 9, 1998--The SemiCycle Foundation, an Austin, Texas-based not-for-profit organization established to collect and recycle plastic packaging materials used in technology manufacturing, made a donation of $10,000 to Cystic Fibrosis Research Inc. (CFRI), a non-profit volunteer organization dedicated to funding CF research and sponsoring educational and support programs for those affected by the disease.

The proceeds will be used to help support CFRI's ongoing programs. 3Com Corporation, a leading Bay Area employer and global supplier of data, voice and video communications network solutions, represented local technology manufacturers whose recycling programs support this donation and donations made throughout the United States.

The check presentation took place July 9 at the Cystic Fibrosis Research offices, 560 San Antonio Road, Palo Alto. The donation was made by Schenae' Rourk, western regional manager of The SemiCycle Foundation, and Larry Nunes, director of production of 3Com. The check was accepted by 21-month-old Tyler Heavner, and 7-year-old Devin Flynn, both cystic fibrosis patients, on behalf of Ann Robinson, executive director, and Kathleen Flynn, president of CFRI.
