Walking
We learn to walk sometime between the age of eight months to three years
. Yet for most of us the beauty of walking is never realised . I did
not recognise the beauty that lay in walking till last year . It was
around that time that I read about walking and the art of walking . I
read many books , some just touched on the topic , some went into the
depths and some were in between . I drew my own conclusions and
experimented for myself . It was a revelation to me that almost 99 % of
the vertical animals that is the human beings , do not walk properly .
We seem to be walking on our feet , but we rarely do . Just observe
people walking and you will notice that people walk by their thighs ,
knees , buttocks , waists , abdomens , backs , shoulders , and neck and
some even the head but rarely anytime do you see one using their legs .
Want to know how you walk ? Go for a real long walk . Walk till you feel
you cannot walk any further . Then drop on to the ground . Now which
part of your anatomy is paining the most ? That is the part you use for
walking ! And I bet for most of you it will be the lower back .
If you were using your feet only , logically only your feet will pain .
But the fact is , when we walk , we use the whole of our body and mind
to walk , whether we know it or not .
For that matter we use the whole of our body and mind for whatever we do
or do not do .
