As regularly as possible (time permitting) I would like to post new findings on this page. The main two finding that deserve our attention is the use of bisphosphonate and the use of clarithromycin.

Dr Barlogie reported on two terminally ill patients treated with only bisphosphonates (Aredia). One patient did not respond at all and one maintained a sustained stable disease state. This is the first article which actually shows that bisphosphonates are disease modifying agents.

Another group published an article in October 1998 which could not show the presence of HHV-8 but showed a virus present in MM which is very simular to HHV-8. This would explain why various groups are reporting different results in searching for HHV-8.

We all hope to get much more info at the Workshop in September. Hope to see a lot of "old" faces there. More later when time permits.
