Dear New Member,

This is a list for young people with eating disorders. It is a new list and has very little activity yet. If you are joining to receive help for your eating disorder or want to share about things in your life contributing to that, please feel free to introduce yourself and do so. It will take time for others to hear about us and join us ... but soon they will come.

Compulsive eating, anorexia and bulimia are serious diseases. In addition to great physical damage they cause tremendous stress in a young person. As a kid, we all have little tape recorders in our head and we record messages that we hear and those messages are played back time and again when we become adults. And they can very easily contribute to a damaged psyche when we reach adulthood and that in turn leads to a vicious circle of our eating disorder.

My name is Mari. I am a compulsive eater grateful to be in recovery. And I was once a kid. This list is YOUR list. Not mine or any other adult's. I hope you will make it into one of the best twelve step lists the Recovery Group has ... and if I can help you, please write me privately at Marisok@aol.com.
