I was born (March 9, 1945) and raised in Maine with my younger sister and brother, until the age of 15 when my family moved to California in 1960. From 1960-1963 I did acting and stuntwork as Bonnie Chandler (maiden name) at a tourist Movie Ranch called Corriganville. There is a new web site about it by a man who used to work there. A lot of movies were filmed there. http://www.oocities.org/Hollywood/Set/1304/corrigan.htm#historyinwords
In 1963 I wanted to be on my own and independent. So what did I do? I joined the Army. Well, what did I know. I did get Crohn's disease there and was given a medical retirement in 1965. The disease progressed and I had 3 bowel resections, the last one being an ileostomy in 1975. I have secondary problems due to this such as B12 pernicious anemia, folic acid anemia and intermittent iron deficiency anemia. I have high triglycerides and pancreaitis. I also have uric acid kidney stones, a history of renal cancer, and various female organ problems due to adhesions from Crohn's and surgery and culminated in having a hysterectomy 1 & 1/2 years ago. I also suffer from depression and panic disorder and obsessive thinking but am on medication for that. Other than that I am healthy. <smirk> .
For education I majored in Art in high school (only in California can you do that). I was a premed student for 4 years and then changed course and went to Nursing school for 3 years and worked as an RN for 3 years. The stress was too much for me. I then went to the Philippines for a short term Christian and medical mission in 1987. I married my husband Scott later that year and now after 11 years of marriage he has left me and plans to divorce me. I play the guitar and write Praise and Worship songs for church. I am on disability but just got approved for re-education to learn more about metalsmithing as I make jewelry and this may give me an opportunity to do this as a profession. It is something I can do at home on the days I feel good and can do it at my own pace to alleviate stress. I am very excited about it. I have sold some of my pieces but not enough to be considered gainfully employed yet. I live 10 minutes from several beaches and love to walk them. I like to read, listen to alternative, blues and Appalachian music. I love to have friends over and just talk. I moved back to Maine in 1978 and love it here but I would really like to live on the Turkish Mediterranean sea. I was in Turkey for a month and loved it there. I love to travel. I enjoy art and photography. I love to go to concerts, plays, musicals and movies. I want to learn mountain climbing if I can find one that has bathrooms on the way up.
Well, that is me in a nut
shell. Hmmm, interesting choice of words. Oh, I go by DAWN on the
newsgroup but my real name is Bonnie.
