Christi Wilson

Christi WilsonChristi is a 30 year old single mother who had been living with Crohn's Disease for about 8 years. Her diagnosis was complicated because the illness was primarily located in the duodenum -- the area that connects the stomach to the small intestines -- a rare area for Crohn's Disease to strike. The diagnosis was finally determined by surgery for a total blockage that included a partial resection and a bowel by-pass. She has done reasonably well since then until they recently discovered another blockage in the terminal ileum -- CD's more common stomping grounds!

Her docs blame her pregnancy and delivery for the return of her disease, but she says that Zachary would have been worth 100 times the pain. "He is a very good baby and sooooo much fun; quite a little character too! The way his personality is, he just lights up the room. I must say I can go on and on and on about him but I'll stop now or you will be reading until tomorrow."

She is currently a fill time student pursuing a degree in accounting. She hopes to find work in the field that will allow her to work at home so that she can be closer to Zachary ... and a bathroom!

In her spare time (and I wish she would share the secret of finding spare time with me!), she likes to make quilts and other arts and crafts. "It helps to alleviate stress, and is also fun to do." She reports that she is a computer novice, but is enjoying learning "all the wonderful things this technology is bringing."
