Mark is a 29 year old, gay man living with his very
supportive significant other along one of the 17th C. Canals in
the center of Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
He was originally diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis in 1989. Although his illness first appeared to be mild, it escalated in 1997 to the point where he had to have an ileostomy and is now considering the J-Pouch procedure. Although a colectomy generally "cures" UC, many of his symptoms were similar to Crohn's Disease and have since recurred, leading his doctors to suspect that he may have CD. He is currently taking Imuran.
