December 17 to 23, 1998
This web page is a tribute dedicated to our first-born child, Peyton Michael, born on December 17, 1998. He came into this world after a completely normal, uncomplicated pregnancy. He weighed 7 pounds, measured 19 1/2 inches long, and appeared perfectly healthy in every way. It wasn’t until 22 hours after his birth that our little boy began showing signs of having a very serious condition. After many hours, numerous tests, and two hospital transfers, Peyton was diagnosed with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS), a serious congenital heart defect where the left side of the heart does not completely develop. At that time, we were faced with the most difficult and most painful decision of our lives. We invite you to read Peyton's story and learn more about our sweet baby. His story begins when we discover he is growing in Mommy's tummy and continues until he becomes our little angel with God just six days after his birth.

Peyton has two *heart healthy* little sisters and one brother. Mya was born on January 1st, 2000, Libby was born July 26, 2001 and Luke was born on April 8, 2005.
