Club Information

"The New England Tae Kwon Do Karate Club was founded in 1979 by Grand Master Ron Bastien. He has been involved in the martial arts for over 40 years. In addition to Tae Kwon Do, Bastien has also studied Isshin-ryu Karate, Judo, and Tae Kwon Do Moo Duk Kwan. He received his Master's belt in Tae Kwon Do from Professor Larry Garon in 1982."1

Our club spans several locations in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. We have roughly 700 students, 85 black belts, and seven (including Bastien) which have their Master's belt in Tae Kwon Do.

Our club teaches the traditional style of Tae Kwon Do. We base our studies on the teachings of our club's founder.
Our club is family oriented. We encourage parents and guardians to participate with their children in non-contact Tae Kwon Do. Adults and children are not split up, but instead learn and work out together.

All classes operate on a part-time basis. An important aspect of the club's philosophy is that Tae Kwon Do be taught to perpetuate the style and for the love of the art, not soley to make a profit.

Club members have the opportunity to participate in...
  • Classes at any of our club locations.
  • Yearly events, such as our Annual Tournament, Festival Day, and Dinner Dance.
  • Forms clinics, 1st degree and advanced black belt testing events.
  • Advanced workout programs for colored belts and red & black belts. 2
  • Additional programs offered by our club, such as Tai Chi Chuan, Tai Chi Sword, Bokken Sword, Butterfly Swords, Fan, Bo staff, three foot stick, Sai Swords, Arnis, Nunchaku, Cane, Tonfa and Escrima stick.2
