Dr. Edward Bach (1886-1936) was an English physician and immunologist who discovered that flowers, herbs, plants, bushes, trees, etc., all bear unique qualities.
Immersing the flowers in clear spring water, which is exposed to sunlight, can preserve these qualities.
The water in which the flowers were immersed is stored in bottles with a grape alcohol solution.
Dr. Bach developed 38 basic tinctures and grouped them into seven categories:
1. Fright: Rock Rose, Mimulus, Cherry Plum, Aspen, Red Chestnut.
2. Uncertainty: Cerato, Scleranthus, Gentian, Gorse, Hornbeam, Wild Oat.
3. Insufficient interest in present circumstances: Clematis, Honeysuckle, Wild Rose, Olive, White Chestnut, Mustard, Chestnut Bud.
4. Loneliness: Water Violet, Impatiens, Heather.
5. Over sensitivity to ideas & influences: Agrimony, Centaury, Walnut, Holly.
6. Despondency & despair: Larch, Pine, Elm, Sweet Chestnut, Star of Bethlehem, Willow, Oak, Crab Apple.
7. Excessive care for welfare of others: Chicory, Vervain, Vine, Beech, Rock Water.
In addition, he developed the "Rescue Remedy," which is, actually, a combination of five remedies. It may be used in the following cases: demands for first aid, in any kind of emergency, sudden misfortunes and upsetting predicaments.
The Bach Flower Remedies are harmless and non-addictive. They may be taken in combination with any other medication, and are safe for all ages, including babies. In addition they can be used for plants and pets.
Bach's philosophy was based on the concept that the origin of any kind of disease is the body's reaction to an unbalanced emotional or mental state.
The Bach Remedies treat the mental condition; create harmony and balance the emotions; provide calmness, hope, strength and comfort; and restore peace to the anguished soul.
The Bach Remedies embody the positive state.
Their energetic vibrations enable us to be both emotionally content and physically healthy.
Inner happiness, total relaxation of the soul, and a change in one's approach and attitude facilitate the healing process.
A healthy soul renders a healthy body. Mental equanimity allows the physical body to recover.
The healer creates the right combination according to one's mental condition and emotional state, taking into consideration a person's present situation and state of mind. The formula is based solely on the person's present mental condition. In other words, the individual's physical condition and/or previous mental condition is relatively unimportant in creating the formula.
The individual has to want to be cured and to be willing to make changes in his approach and attitude toward life and how he regards himself and his immediate and general environment.
Healing is also a learning process, where every experience serves as an important lesson in itself.
The healer grants the individual much needed support and faithfully remains with him in his healing journey.
I Wish You & Your Loved Ones Many Healthy & Happy Years, Debbie
