 Jerantut
is the biggest district in the state of Pahang.
It is located 180 km from Kuantan
or 200 km from Kuala Lumpur. It is famous for its historical and tourism
value. Mat Kilau, the respected Malay warrior was born here. Taman
Negara (National Park), with its oldest tropical rainforest in the
world, situated in Kuala Tahan, a mukim (smaller division of
district) in Jerantut.
I was the Medical and Health Officer in charge of
the health clinics in Kuala and Hulu Tembeling, Jerantut between
November 1996 to December 1998. Even though I am now working in Terengganu,
my heart is still in Jerantut. |
