Four weeks out from his first contest in 1997, Gary's diet had shaped up along the following schedule:

Meal 1/7:30 a.m.: 1 Bod-E-Smart pack, 1 tablespoon creatine, 1 teasppon safflower oil, 3 scoops Designer protein

Meal 2/11:30 a.m.: Same as Meal 1

Meal 3/1:30 p.m.: 16 oz. steak, 6 eggs (minus 3 yolks), 1 apple

Meal 4/3:30p.m.: 1 Bod-E-Smart pack, 1 tablespoon creatine, 1 teasppon safflower oil, 3 scoops Designer protein

Meal 5/5:30 p.m.: Same as Meal 4

Meal 6/7:30 p.m.: 16 oz. steak or chicken, 6 eggs (minus 3 yolks)

Meal 7/9:30 p.m.: 1 Bod-E-Smart pack, 1 tablespoon creatine, 1 teaspoon safflower oil, 3 scoops Designer protein

"Also, I take 12 grams of glutamine every day, as well as antioxidants and multi-vitamin minerals," he adds. "Plus I took five Ultra Trim Plus tabs (also by Art of Better Living) before a workout--it's a thermogen and fat emulsifier." Gary began his revamped diet about four months out from the NPC Arizona State championships in early 1997.
