CHAMPIONSHIP TRAINING WITH GARY GUINN, (NABBA) MR. USA 1997

Gary describes his 1997 pre-contest routine this way: "What I did was hit each muscle every 5 or 6 days, so every muscle got trained 5 times a month. Every Monday was chest and shoulders; Tuesday was quads; Wednesday was hamstrings and arms; Thursday was abs; Friday was back; then on Saturday, I did Monday's workout. Sunday would be off. Then Monday would be Tuesday's workout, and so the way it would come out just rotating like that every Thursday would be abs and calves and every Sunday off. When I did the Western Regionals in '96, I did all my muscles once every 7 days, and I found that wasn't enough for me. After 5 or 6 days, my muscles wouldn't get sore training them again, that extra day was just a little too much of a break for me..."
