There are many different treatment options as far as PD goes. I think there are wonderful medications, psychiatrists, etc. out there, but I have found that the ONE most important thing that you must do is to change your whole thinking process.

You have to understand that until someone comes up with a "cure" for PD, you will probably continue to have panic attacks, but you will continue to live through each and every one of them, the same as you always have. A big fear of mine used to be passing out. I know now though, that if I do, then I WILL NOT die, and I WILL NOT stop breathing...I WILL eventually wake up, then continue life as I have done before.

You just have to have the thinking process that you are going to breathe, and your heart is going to beat whether you like it or not. One of the other big fears of mine were the chest pains, I would think I was having a heart attack. Remember that chest pains associated with breathing in or out (like panic chest pains) are ALMOST NEVER associated with cardiac problems.

We have survived panic attacks in the past, and we will continue to survive them in the future. Yes, they will cause us to be uncomfortable for an amount of time, but life will go on.
