"From MS to Wellness: My Personal Story of Overcoming Multiple
Sclerosis"
Author: Betty A. Iams
This little 112 page book is a relatively fast read. Ms. Iams tells of a wholistic approach to the best health she could obtain. Throughout the story of her journey to find her best lifestyle, she tells of the methods that worked for her and those that did not. She does not claim a cure for MS but does stress well rounded wellness.
It was my first thought that this book was a little expensive for it's size and the information it contains. But I am not a beginner to this way of life and this is a beginners book. It contains many references to other works that may be invaluable to the person who is searching for maximum wellness.

"White Banners"
Author: Lloyd C. Douglas
This is a wonderful book that can be read at different levels. It can be read as a fictional story built around real events. It is a story about the man that invented refrigeration. It'a a story about family life just before and during the great depression. It's a story of love, deceit, and belief in a higher power (though this remains undefined). It is a story about overcoming the odds and winning.
Originally written in 1936, the language style is a little difficult to get into but it is well worth pushing through the first pages until one becomes accustomed to it.
The copy I have was the 8th printing in 1970. This author has published several classics, such as "Magnificent Obsession" and "The Robe", so you may be able to find it in a bookstore (or order it). Certainly you should be able to get it at the local library.
