Sobering Questions On Impeachment For The Democratic Senators To Ponder (Consider Using These Questions in my Email To Sen. Lieberman In Your Own Letter)New!

This is my recent Email to Sen. Lieberman. I do not want to waste my time with Barbara Boxer who should have reclused herself from this trial. I hope to email this to other more open-minded Senators. The reader may consider adopting some of these points in your own words to your Senator.

Dear Honorable Lieberman: Thank you for standing on principles. You are one of my top favorite Democratic Senators. You are respected by other Democrats. About our President whom we both love. I read something that really bothers me. You know the Arkansas prison bloodgate? He should know abou the tainted blood supply & who knows maybe made commisions out of this deal by his friends. Many have already died. Canada papers say some 12,000 Canadians will die of AIDs because of this bloodgate! This Ark. prison's program was shut down by FDA but reopened ! I read this news from Salon magazine. Sooner or later this whole scandal & the Canadian lawsuit will comes out.

Another question that gnaws at me is what keeps the President from gettting blackmailed during one of his foreign visit? Matter of national security. Does it also concern you that he justifies the top security clearance for Lewinsky?

Finally, Sir, do you realize that according to the Justice Dept.'s own guideline, that Perjuery (rank #14 in seriousness) or obstruction ( also #14) are more serious than Bribery( rank #10) ? Treason is #43.

Then what crimes a President would have to commit to be impeached? What about counterfeiting money, domestic violence, burglary, stalking, blackmail? I read somewhere that according to the Justice Dept.'s own guideline, the above are not as serious as Perjury!! At first, I couldn't believe it! Now if the Democrats were to use this new definition of impeachable offense on Nixon, in what way did Nixon pose "a threat to the country"?

If Clinton is excused, won't we have to apologize to Nixon & all the impeached judges? Won't it result in possible lawsuits ? What if a future President should lie about bribery, theft, treason or national security? Do you think these too should be excused, to be consistent?

Finally, should we be ruled by polls or principles? If say next week, the polls show the majority believes the Senate should remove him, will you promise to obey the mandate & will of the American people? The overwhelming majority of the people believe Mr. Clinton has lied, why has not this influenced your belief on whether he has lied?

I hope you will ponder these sobering questions. Thank you!

Sincerely Yours

Raymond Kwong, a concerned citizen

P.S. I realize you must be extremely busy, but who knows maybe you will reply my mail
