Episode 1: Sakura and the Mysterious Magical Book
This episode begins with Sakura having a dream. In this dream she hears a bell chime and book adorned with wings and the name Clow appears before her. The drem keeps going and she finds herself looking at Tokyo tower and is surrounded by tarot-like cards and she is dressed in a strange uniform. Sskura is also accompanied by a strang creature with wings. She then jumps from the building and her dream ends. She has been awakened by her alarm clock. She hurriedly dresses and runs downstairs where she is greeted by her father and brother. Her mother died when she was 3. Her brother teases her and then gets ready to leave but Sakura slaps on her skates and follows him to school. When she finally catches up to him she sees that her brother's best friend Yukito has joined him on their trip. It becomes obvious that Sakura likes Yukito and her brother teases her until she stomps on his foot with her blades. When they reach Tomeda Elementary (where Sakura goes to school), Yukito throws her a piece of candy and waves goodbye (both Yukito and Touya are in highschool.). Sakura's best friend Tomoyo walks up and mentions about the gift and as they walk into school Tomoyo wants to know if she can vidotape Sakura because she is so kawaii. In class Sakura day dreams about her dream, and draws a picture of the winged creature in her dream. Tomoyo asks about it but Sakura says she saw it in her book. At cheerleading practice Sakura impresses everyone with her backflips then they take out their batons. But Sakura dreams that hers has turned into the staff she had in her dream and it hits her on the head. At home Sakura is alone because her brother has gone to soccer practice and her father is at work. She hears a strange nosie but ignores it, but when it presists she thinks it is a burgalar in the basement so she grabs her baton and goes to check it out. She sees a book on the shelf glowing and reachs for it. The latch snaps open and she sees the same cards that she saw in her dream. She picks up the first card and says the name "Windy" on it. When she says this all the cards get whipped into the wind that has arisen and fly around. All the cards disspear through the walls and ceiling and Sakura is left holding only the "Windy" card. After a few more moments the book glows again and a small teddy bear like lion appears (Kero). He introduces himself as Kerberos the gaurdian beast and then freaks out when he sees the cards are missing. Later that night Kero tries to locate the cards but cannot and is forced to tell Sakura about Clow Reed and how the cards were created. He then gives the Sakura the key pendant and tells her that since she scattered the cards she can find them. And that she is the Cardcaptor. Late at night Kero sees the "Fly" card (who looks like a giant bird) outside of Sakura's window. Kero tells Sakura she must capture it so with no choice she puts on her roller skates and follows it until she can jump on its back. She then summons Windy (card), to wrap around it and bring it to the ground. Sakura then seals the card and Kero tells her she did a great job and that they make a great team. Sakura then uses the Fly card to transform her wand into a broom like stick with wings that she can fly on. As she is flying home Sakura realized she had never really agreed to be the Card Captor in the first place. |
