Mark Wahlberg, the son of Alma and Donald Wahlberg was born on June 15, 1971, in a small working class district of Boston named Dorchester. He has 5 brothers (one of them, Donnie from NKOTB) and 3 sisters.  School wasn't for Mark, and he dropped out in high-school.  However, he later got his GED. Mark had various jobs including bricklayer before he found music and acting.  Mark was convicted of several minor felonies during this time, which gave him the bad boy image for Marky Mark.  He recorded two albums and toured as Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch. "Music For the People" (Interscope, 1991) and "You Gotta Believe" (Interscope, 1992).  He even won Best Dance Single for "Good Vibrations".  He is best known for dropping his pants onstage.  This trademark helped him score a modeling contract to model underwear for Calvin Klein in 1992 with supermodel Kate Moss in a widely-distributed campaign photographed by Herb Ritts.  He later switched to acting and has appeared in several major films including, The Perfect Storm, Three Kings, The Yards, The Corruptor, The Big Hit, Traveller, Boogie Nights,
Fear, Basketball Diaries, Renaissance Man, and the TV movie The Substitute.
