Leroy's First Trip to Disneyland
January 2003

It was foggy when we arrived, but that didn't dampen Leroy's enthusiasm.

First we hit Tomorrowland where Leroy posed for a picture after taking in Star Tours. Then it was off to Fantasyland as the sun peaked out of the fog.

Leroy poses on a carousel horse with Mary Poppins. Then we went to the mall to meet with our online friends, the Krock family. They were there to take pictures for the Mouse Planet Web site.

After a tasty lunch in New Orleans Square, we seperated and went off to ride Pirates of the Carribean. The skeletons were too scary for Leroy, but he loved playing on the Nightmare Before Christmas characters.

We finished the day with a trip on the Jungle Cruise and the to the Tiki Room. After that, it was off to Goofy's Kitchen for pictures with characters, and some chow. There was a long wait, so we cooled our heels at the Lego store. Here he poses with a life-sized model of R2D2.

Goofy's Kitchen is a buffet-style restaurant at the bottom of the old Disneyland Hotel. The characters come to your table to talk to you and pose for pictures.

Here are Chip and Dale. Terry learned the secret for telling them apart from Dale (check out the noses).

Leroy the lady killer plants one on Snow White and basks in the glow of Cruella.

Like all alternate universes, this one has it's own rules. The masked characters do not speak (like Captain Hook pictured here), but the non-masked ones (like Snow White) can. The work around for this is that the masked characters will "talk" to you by writing on the paper covering the table. We had a long discussion about the travails of parenthood with Goofy via this method.

We then had to kill time waiting for the shuttle bus back to our hotel. Back to the Lego Store (Mom thinks the Lego man taking a nap has the right idea). Thus ended day one.

Back we went for day two at the park. Leroy was tired after a late night and short sleep, so he insisted on getting a stroller. We decided to start our day in Toon Town, and we didn't get out until well after lunch. Leroy LOVED it! He went on every ride there at least once.

We then headed to Frontierland and Adventureland. Leroy poses in a quiet corner of New Orleans Square. Below are pictures from his next favorite place, Tarzan's Treehouse which he visted three times.
