Ursah: A Prayer at the Shrine of Drakkara

Upon hearing word of the completion of a shrine to Drakkara, Lei'ursathdd knew that trekking to the site was a priority for that day. So it was no suprise to herself when she was walking with her husband this fine morning, that they should venture off the standard roads through the forest, in search of the shrine.

It was not hard to find- the Queens directions had been good, and the holy symbol around the Matron's neck seemed to tingle in excitement as they neared a lush garden, cut out of the wild forest. But when arriving completely within the garden, both man and woman held their breath in awe of the wonder about them. The presance of the purple flowers, ebony vines, and a pyre of holy flame within did delight the senses and hold the soul in awe. Ursah found herself quite pleased with the surroundings, knowing that also her Goddess would be pleased with the beauty represented here.

And her goddess, though her beauty was incomparable, was done honor in the fine craftsmanship of her likeness whose glittering eyes seemed to dart about the garden, following the looker.

Lei'ursathdd placed the lavendar rose she had carried for this purpose at the base of the statue, and absorbed in the beauty and dark energy of the shrine felt drawn to prayer. Planting the base of her cane firmly in the ground, she lowered herself downward slowly and with effort, falling upon her knees the last bit of the way and wincing slightly. Her husband knelt next to her, taking her cane and placing it to the side as the matron bowed down low to the ground, her bones creaking in protest.

"Great lady, I kneel in supplication before thee,
and I praise your name with my lip. May you watch
over my house, as have you always. May your dark
blessing touch each one, and our purpose. Although
at times our minds may not be clear, let us always
know the appropriate response. Let all have mercy
on our mercilessness. Let us leave nothing
unfinished."
