Golf Ball Hemispheres

Here is a quick and easy way to make hemispheres (hemis) for a 2 inch shell that I saw on a website. All that's required is some strips paper mache or similar paper, wallpaper paste, and a golf ball. Shown here:

The strips are wetted with paste and pasted around the golf ball (which has previously been smothered with vaseline) to make a few layers. I sometimes paste some newspaper over that as well. This is then left to dry. Once dry, a cut is made with a knife around the circumference and the two halves are separated. It can be a bit hard to separate, and I use the knife to help pop them apart.

Once separated, the hemis are ready for use, and that's all there is to it.
