Carmen Schweiger
CARMEN SCHWEIGER, Ph.D.
A native of Austria, Ms. Schweiger moved to San Diego in 1995.
She was raised and educated in Austria. A graduate of the University of Vienna, Ms. Schweiger earned a Ph.D. in Musicology and Theater Arts, and studied extensively at the universities of Bologna, Florence, and Naples.
Ms. Schweiger has since worked as a communications and marketing professional, helping many organizations to develop and implement marketing and public relations programs to support the Arts.
She currently serves as Special Events Director for the renowned Westwind Brass, one of southern California’s top classical music ensembles. Her duties include planning, organizing, coordinating and promoting Westwind Brass' international and national tours, special events, fund raisers, concert series and various programs. She oversees and recommends budget and funds, working closely with the Board of Directors and volunteers.
Ms. Schweiger was honored by the San Diego Commission for Arts and Culture in 1998 as one of San Diego’s Outstanding Volunteers in the Arts.
Ms.
Schweiger is fluent in four languages, has extensive public speaking
experience. She enjoys classical music, sports, and traveling, and she visits
Austria on a regular basis.
