Arts & Sciences

House Singing Stone places a strong emphasis on A&S. We believe in A&S so strongly, to gain entry into the House, one must be active in at least one of the Arts or Sciences. Notice we say active. This does NOT mean you must be an expert in a field, or even average. All this means is HSS members must make an attempt to broaden themselves by at least trying one of the multitude of activities encompassed by A&S.

Currently, HSS members are involved in sewing, embroidery, brewing, calligraphy, illumination, armoring, cooking, leatherwork, hatmaking, and other projects I'm sure I have forgotten. Not only does involvement in these activities broaden the horizons of those that practice them, it also lends more of an air of the era we are trying to recreate. We hope this adds to the ambiance that many of us are looking for when we attend an event.

If you have any questions concerning any of the A&S areas, get in touch with us and we will try to help. Luckily, HSS members go out of thier way to teach. While teaching is not required of members, it seems to have become second nature for most of us. If you are within travaling distance, we could even come to you! Get in touch with us and we will talk.
