German Evening, 14 October 1933. Mr. Janke was the conductor for the first two selections while Mr Kirmse directed the
remainder of the musical program. Mr. Kirmse was a very accomplished violinist and had a daughter, Sylvia Kirmse, who also played the violin and other instruments. I can also remember that in later years her orchestra
would provide the music for several dances in the old hall. In the one act play, Someone Must Marry, the part of Gertrud is played by Meta Schenk (Mrs Franz Schenk) and the part of the daughter by Hermine Kuss (later
Mrs. Otto Schenk). - Peter |
