Dyan and I witnessed the power of Houston Playback Theater on Saturday night; we haven't stopped talking about it. The actors were incredibly adept at capturing the audience's shared stories and the entire endeavor was wonderfully conducted by Leslie Gauna. It was theater and it was celebration. Wonderful, wonderful.

I
just wanted you to know how much I enjoyed your performance at the Unity Choir
Retreat in August.
I
was amazed at your ability to create moving vignettes, deep with meaning, with
the limited number of props that you used.
Your humorous pieces were delightful.
Your more serious pieces touched the essence of the stories the audience
told.
Thank
you for such a great evening.

Diane,
Thank you and please thank your group for a great performance. I would
consider our program a success. There were some touching stories acted out.
The next day I spoke to someone about the group and he shared a story I wish we
had told that night. His mother in Alzheimer's thought she was pregnant
and exhibited even morning sickness. They had a doll ready just in case a
stand in was needed. There would have been no uncertainty about which of
your actors would have played that part.
Congratulate them all. I think this was very cathartic possibly more than
we realize.

Your performance enhanced the success of our conference. The type of performance presented enabled our students to see themselves from a different perspective and explore their inner feelings. The added insight empowered students and helped them discover more alternatives when making decisions.
Thank you again for your commitment to the community, to our children, and to the future of our nation.
Sincerely.

I just wanted to drop you a note to reiterate how delighted we were with the workshop…Playback proved to be an effective tool for meeting many goals. We were not only able to gather information we needed for our research, but you provided a safe space and structure for the participants to “debrief” about their experiences. I look forward to other opportunities to collaborate with you…

…The performance of Houston Playback Theatre at the beginning of our board meeting brought both spoken and unspoken levels of awareness to all in attendance. The cast was able to express the feelings involved in “the changing of the guards” for both old and new board members, and initiated a positive cohesive experience in the process. I was extremely impressed with your group, as were other board members, and would highly recommend Houston Playback Theatre to other organizations undergoing transition and change.
Sincerely,
