Muscoda WI - April 20, 21 and 22 (Page Two)

Well, Friday was such a grand afternoon of hovering, how could we miss with Saturday, too? After all, with an all nite shower, there certainly wasn't going to be a dust problem, right? Saturday opened with cloudy skies, brief intermittent droplets from the heavens, plus LOTS OF WIND! Dennis Alm and Bob Steinhauer tell me this seems to be the only kind of weather I ever order for a Hover-In, and I even believe them!

Ben Tilson, Rochester MN

Ben Tilson, Rochester MN.....and talk about Body English! Sometimes it seemed to me that Ben had only one speed......full throttle! Ben was very kind to give me some pointers in how to navigate the back water woodsy areas when we took on the Blue River Sunday afternoon! Thank you very much, Ben!

Well, either Ben has put Verdon to sleep standing up, obviously handing out more advice, or the camera caught him in a wink....but next photo shows Ken Roberts gearing up!

Driver's Meeting? Our driver's meetings usually turn out to be food fests, as shown here! Thank you, one and all, for bringing so many goodies to share! From the delicious rice krispie bars of Debbie's, to the Steinhauer's sausage and cheese tray, we certainly had lots to munch on in between cruising.
We had a short meeting and determined that we couldn't do our usual poker run for the lack of islands to put anyone on....and cruising around the bridge pylons could be dangerous...and also ruling out slalom runs with buoys would be fruitless, we turned our attention to more eating and puzzles!
Stephanie Lynch, Ken Roberts and Verdon Weber work on some link puzzles.....

The rest of this page are fun shots....

Bob Steinhauer made numerous runs between his home and the gathering! Bill Zang arrives with his craft...ready for fun!
John Lynch readies his SCAT for service! Ken Roberts brings lunch!
Mike Jacobson made pancakes in his motor home Sat. a.m. for all interested in eating, and then quickly vanished to the river!

He makes great pancakes, guys!

Mike Lynch recently purchased a 30 foot trailer (see picture below) and completely redid it for the sole purpose of hauling his 2 SCATs. But by the end of this hover-in he had decided he needed to revise it again so Stephanie could bring a hover, too! Yea, Mike!!!
Mike had a great attitude about everything....nothing ever went completely wrong! Thanks Mike for bringing your usual fun attitude to this hover-in!
Campsite parking for all the hovers! Another Vern orders his 1st hovercraft! It took 2 hover-ins to convince him!
Mike Jacobson Charles Dixon and his SCAT 12 are ready for the weather!

Charles Dixon summed up the day really well with his email to me: "Bill Zang and I were out ... Mike Jacobson turned back with Ben Tilson when he started taking water into the thrust duct.... nice calm conditions!!- NOT!! Heheheheheheheheheheheeehehehe!!! There were some 4 foot swells out there that Bill and I were jumping....... Gotta love it!! It was nice to find someone as nutty as me to cruise with!!! Well the weekend seems to be a great success now, and yet there's more! Turn to Page 3!
