This page has links to pages that contain information that just doesn't fit in my other categories very neatly. Many of them are interesting; my favorite is the Harvard Bookstore's page on the books that influenced Zinn as he was growing up. I've put the audio clips towards the top because I'm getting ready to bust out the multimedia section of this site into a new page. If you have more material, especially audio, please send it to me!
The AK Audio version of A People's History - 3 excerpts published by Salon.com.
Howard Zinn / Etcetera, - A site chock-full of links to essays and audio clips of Howard Zinn as well as several other radical intellectuals.
Radio Free Maine - a page with video and audio clips of Howard Zinn and his fellow radical Noam Chomsky.
AK Press - an offer to buy a CD of Zinn's lecturee at Reed College
People and History Links: Howard Zinn - published by ProActivist.com.
A schedule of performances of Marx in Soho, Zinn's play.
Transcript of an Online Chat - held on ABCNews.com on December 1, 1999.
Review of A People's History of the United States - a review by yours trully of Zinn's most famous work.
Review of the Zinn Reader, - a review by the Book House of Stuyvesant Plaza.
Minnesota State University at Mankato Reporter - a review of "Marx in Soho", one of Zinnn's plays.
What Writers Read: Howard Zinn - this is the page I mentioned, by the HHarvard Bookstore. The Harvard Bookstore is not, as far as I know, officially affiliated with Harvard University in any way (but it gets tons of attention from tourists who think it is!)
The Nation - an article about the Fox network's move to turn A People's History of the United States into a miniseries.
The Daily Free Press of Boston University - an article about a speech given jointlly by Zinn and Chomsky.
Make Democracy Come Alive - notes from a lecture given by Zinn at the University of Wisconsin in 1995.
bud.com - a somewhat confusing story about Zinn''s appearance at a debate about the Monica Lewinsky scandal.
Independent Reader - a plug for Disobedience and Democracy.
Quotes from A People's History - some inspiring quotes that I found in A People's History.
Although I try not to link to commercial sites that stand to gain from ideas that don't belong to them, you may have noticed that the resistance is not so easy - the number of sites of that stamp is growing, and some of them are trully useful. But I'll maintain the high ground when it comes to Amazon.com, that tireless cheerleader of capitalism.
However, I will tell you that the material provided by amazon.com is particularly interesting - including, among other things, a good number of reviews by adoring fans. So you might enjoy leafing through it, but you'll have to do some homework to get there. Sorry!
