"Would you like to come in?"Kevin offered as they pulled into the available parking space near the condominium he had rented for the time he would be there.
She hesitated.  She knew this would be so wrong.  What would be so wrong?  Nothing has happened.
Yet.  He's waiting."Sure."
"Great,"she attempted to leave the vehicle.
"Don't,"he  exited on his side and made his way around the vehicle.  He opened the door and took her hand.   Quite  a simple gesture but the ladies seem to enjoy it and he was going to make his impression on her.  He still wasn't sure if this was really happening or not or even if she was still real.   She felt very real.   Please don't wake me up if this is another dream.
"Thank you,"she replied as he guided her out of the vehicle.   He took the liberty of holding her hand as they strolled to his door.  He'd been the perfect gentleman all evening long.  He drew out her chair for her at dinner and he would not let her open a door.  She smiled as he fumbled for the key.
He looked into her blissfully innocent blue eyes and inquired,"What is it that you find so amusing?"
"Nothing,"she responded.
"Nothing doesn't have a grin like that,"he briefly stole away from her gaze and found the key."Here it is,"he said opening the door  and offering first entrance into the darkened hallway.  He flipped the switch near the entrance and it became fully illuminated."So are you going to tell me?"
"About what?"she played coy and he assisted her as she pulled her hand knit dusty rose sweater from her shoulders."You're going to spoil me."
"How?"
"Most men these days won't even open your car door and you pretty much did everything but dress me for this date."
"So this was a date,"he said trying to play off the very real fact that indeed that is what he had planned for the evening's events.
"Who's playing coy now Mr. Richardson?"she inquired as she ventured further into the condominum.  She noted the lavishly adorned entertainment center with  a quite extensive set of electronics set up on it."Show me how this stuff works,"she half requested, half ordered.
"You really don't wanna know about all that do you."
"Well not all of it.  Just how the radio works."
"Only the radio?" He moved in behind her.
"Well that is where the music usually comes from now isn't it?"
"Last time I checked,"his breath soft and warm upon her neck.
She needed to get away.  She shouldn't be feeling this way."Would you excuse me?"she nervously requested.
"Can I ask what for?"
"I need a little air,"she returned.
"You need a little air?"he quizically inquired suddenly realizing he was the reason for her discomfort.  He actually was finding some joy in the fact that she needed to distance herself but he also didn't back down."I'm not making you nervous am I?"
"Don't be ridiculous,"she backed up a little.
"Well I wouldn't be but you are backing away as I get closer,"closing in on her impending imprisonment of the wall behind her.
"Well I wouldn't be backing away if you wouldn't keep getting closer."
"Silly question but why don't you want me to get any closer?"
She now found herself trapped between him and the wall.  She'd have gone limp had it not been for the wall.  Damn those eyes!  They were more mesmerizing now that they were bearing down into hers.
They knew her. They knew all the intimate details of her soul.  How did she know this?  She knew because she'd felt them before.  Long before now that is.
"You haven't answered my question,"he inquired.  She was real.  His ghost was real.  Maybe they had been just visions of what he had wanted to see.  She was here nonetheless.  He searched those sweet, innocent blue eyes hoping she would reply.  The silence was killing him.
" I can't explain why.  I just don't."
"Are you afraid of doing something foolish?"
"And what would be considered foolish?"she stammered as his hand slipped around the curve of her cheek.
"This,"he gently brushed her soft pouting lips before delving swiftly into the eagerness of her generous flavor.
The moment their lips connected a stream of centuries stormed deep within one another's minds. As though they had been transplanted to another place and time.  She quickly drew away from the warmth of his body.  Unsure of what had just happened, she met similiar dissorientation in his gaze.  She didn't want to leave but she knew that she had to."I can't,"she turned her gaze toward the window.
"Can't what?"he inquired drawing her gaze back toward his still unsure himself of what had just happened.
"I failed to mention something to you before I agreed to go out with you."
"What?"
"I have a boyfriend."
"Oh."His world had just crumbled.  She was supposed to be the one.
"You don't sound surprised."
"Well at least I know why now."
"Kevin?"
"What?"
"I am so sorry."
"No need for explanations,"he calmly replied.
"Kevin.  I'm not sure where things stand with him."
