CONCERT AND HOTEL REVIEW FROM PORTLAND,OREGON....

October 2nd, 2001.

Well, it starts out sort of weird... we had reserved a room this time at the Hotel where they stayed last time... hoping to God that they would stay there again. Well, we made the reservations, got everything together and waited for the day to come! Well, it finally rolled around after what seemed like forever! We left on October 1st at 2pm to go check in to the hotel. I was so nervous... God I thought I was gonna get sick! We took our luggage and walked up to the bus stop and made our way to the Hotel. My mom and her boyfriend were excited as well, we all were happy to be going. We finally made it to the Hotel and checked in, got our key cards and went upstairs to the 8th floor. Well, our room was small, considering how much we payed for it. But we were happy just knowing the guys were in fact going to be staying there again. Well, I had already been awake for over 8 hours, tired as hell and excited beyond belief! I sat down on my bed and sat there thinking about how I would approach the guys this time. I didn't buy anything for them this time, but my sis, Michelle had sent some pillows she made. She made one for Kevin, with pictures of Kristin and him on it, and one for all the guys with pictures of all of them on it. Well, we kept those close at hand, not knowing when exactly the guys were going to pull in. We watched some Tv and sat around, getting more nervous by the minute it seemed! I sat there, wondering how different this time would be.... we decided to go up to the Penthouse (we went up there about 6 times! LOL) to see if anyone was up there! (That is the floor that the guys and their opening acts stayed on.) We went up there and looked around, it was much bigger than we expected it to be... and had hidden rooms that we couldn't get to. (They were behind a door that was locked.) We assumed that's where the guys would be going. There were a line of rooms on either side of the hall in the hall we could get to. 10 rooms, we assumed for the dancers and Krystal and Sisqo. Well, nothing up there..... so we went back down to our room and watched some more Tv. By this time is was about 5pm, we had gotten our lunch from Subway down the street and watched some movies. I was so tired, but too exicited to sleep! We talked some more (My mom and I and her boyfriend), and decided to try and sleep. Well, none of us ended up sleeping at all that night! Midnight rolled around and we still hadn't slept, so I went down to the lobby and sat and did some puzzles. (Strange but true, it helped me not fall asleep! LOL) Well, we waited, and waited, and waited! 3 am rolled around, and still no Backstreet Boys! Well, we went outside to see a bunch of girls sitting on the ground outside waiting. We knew it had to be getting close to arrival time! I was walking around, trying to keep warm! (IT WAS COLD!) We talked to some of the girls that were waiting, finding out who their favorite guy was. Most of them said Nick or AJ! What's wrong with the other guys? I told them I loved all of the guys, cause I do! They're all great guys, nice too! But we won't skip ahead to that yet. Well, 5 am came.... and my God, buses started pulling up! Well, I didn't see what color they were cause it was still dark outside, but let me tell you.... the first bus pulled up, and we all lined up around the door. Brian and Leighanne got off the bus, and didn't even stop for any of us. He just turned around and said, 'Good morning.' We all thought to ourselves.... 'That's it? We've waited out here all morning freezing to death to get that?' Well, my mom and I had found out, even though we paid for our room, we couldn't meet the guys inside because the bellhops said it wasn't fair to the guys to hound them. So we were really, I mean REALLY pissed off! But we waited outside anyway. Well, Brian's bus left... and another pulled up. Krystal got off and I snapped a picture of her, she asked us not to because she said, and I quote...'I look aweful right now, can you wait until later on to take pictures?' LOL, she was so cute! We got her autograph and told her that she looked really pretty even though she didn't think so. She smiled and said thank you, then went inside. Well, some dancers and crew people got off some buses and started loading luggage inside. Then 2 more buses pulled up. Well, we waited, and still no one came off. We walked down to the bus, and it was daylight finally as it was about 7am by this time. Well, we thought that the person that got off the bus was Howie.... he turned around and it was the GORGEOUS AJ! My God he looked good! We all asked him for autographs, but he asked if he could do it later. So we said ok and he went inside... smiling at everyone. (I got a picture of him walking in. HEHE) Well, that bus pulled off and then we see this backpack through the window of the next bus, I knew it had to be Nick, I just felt it! Well, the doors opened, and sure enough, it was Nick! He had just woken up and his hair was sticking up everywhere! HE LOOKED SO CUTE! We all started snapping pictures of him and he held his hand up to his eyes and said, 'Please, ladies, I can't see anything.' I stopped snapping pictures cause I felt bad for him. He got off the bus and walked into the hotel and headed up to bed. (I got a picture of his butt. LOL, I couldn't help myself!) Well, then we waited and another bus pulled up. Some bad news reached us yet again..... HOWIE HAD SKIPPED IN THE BACK DOOR! He avoided the crowd out front and went around to the door that had barely anyone at it! We were sad of course.... we still have yet to meet Howie! But anyway, we stood there, waiting... and a city bus came by with some tourists.... and accidentally backed into one of the tour buses!!! Well, the driver of the tour bus got off and got some information from the other driver. The bellhops didn't know there was still someone on that tour bus, so they took down the ropes that were holding us back at that time. Well, 15 minutes passed by... and KEVIN comes off with his bodygaurd. I walked up to him and said, 'Kevin, can I please have an autograph?' He kind of hesitated for a minute (HE WAS TIRED!) and then took my pen... he put it into his mouth and pulled the cap off and signed autographs for almost everyone outside! Well, he was going to skip over my mom.... and I said, 'Please Kevin, this is my mom. Please sign for her?' So he did, and put a peace sign in a heart for her! It was so cute! We all thanked him and he went inside. So I took my pen back... and I STILL HAVE IT! HEHE....

Well, that was it for the morning, we were all tired, happy, excited... JUMPING AROUND CAUSE WE TALKED TO KEVIN! LOL. Well, my mom's boyfriend missed it because he decided at the worst time that he had to use the bathroom!!!!! He wanted to shake Kevin's hand atleast and say hi, and he missed it!

Well, mom and her boyfriend ended up going up to get some sleep a little later on.... I however, couldn't sleep and stayed downstairs waiting to see if I could have another encounter with the guys. Well, it didn't come till alot later on that day! It was around noon time, when I finally got to meet AJ's girlfriend, Sarah! My god she was so nice! She signed autographs, took pictures with some of us and I got a hug from her! She was so, so very sweet to everyone! I told her that I thought she was beautiful and she said thank you very much. (So modest, she is really beautiful!)

Well, a little later on, maybe around 1:30, a van pulled around to the back door and everyone said it was Brian inside! So I ran into the hallway next to the elevators.....(Even though I knew I could get in trouble, I just didn't care!) and there was Brian! I walked up to him and said, 'Hey Bri.' He looked over and smiled at me. He said, 'Hi sweetie, how are you?' I said fine, how about you, and I tried to walk closer to him. Well, his bodygaurd stuck his arm out and said, 'Please keep your distance.' So I stuck my hands up and said, 'Sorry man.' And Brian started laughing! Well, I waited for the elevator and Brian looked back over at me, and moved around his bodygaurd and stood next to me! LOL, it was SOOOO Funny! Well, after all that, I wasn't allowed to take the elevator up with him! So I went back outside and stood there laughing! Brian was too funny!

Well, the day passed by..... and my mom and her boyfriend had missed the best parts! Sarah and Brian!!!!!!! Well, I went up there and woke them up and told them what happened. Mom was upset cause she thought Brian was mean earlier that morning cause he just walked by everyone, but I told her, mom, he was just tired. And she shook her head and said, I understand that, so was I. So anyway, the time past by by a few more hours.... and we went back down and waited for the guys to leave for the venue. We stood at the door, waiting..... the buses pulled up and started to get loaded with luggage. TONS OF LUGGAGE!!!!!

Well, AJ and Sarah came out together and got on their bus, and Krystal came out behind them. I asked her, 'Can we take pictures now?' she smiled and said, 'Snap away!' LOL, she was so cute! Well, then it was Nick's turn to come out. He walked down the hallway, and came out the doors. I smiled at him and held my hand out, (I HAD SHELL'S PILLOWS WITH ME NOW!) and gave him the pillow with all of their picture's on it. He started walking away, and came back towards me and he said, 'What's this?' I said, 'A pillow.' and laughed. He smiled and said thanks! He was soooooo cute! He started walking back towards his bus, and some girls pushed the ropes over and jumped towards Nick! POOR NICK!!!!!! His bodygaurd helped him to the bus and they closed the doors! God, POOR NICKY! Well, a few minutes later, BRIAN AND LEIGHANNE SNUCK BEHIND US OUT THE OTHER DOOR!!!! We all turned around and watched them get on the bus. We again learned Howie left through the back doors! (HE HAS A REAL BAD HABIT OF AVOIDING US IN A CROWD!!!!!! WELL, MOSTLY IN PORTLAND I GUESS!)Well, our concert was on the 2nd of October, a day before Kevin's 30th birthday, so we decided to sing happy birthday for him. We sang it, then he came out.... walked by everyone cause he had his hands full, and we all sang it again. He came back off his bus, and his bodygaurd said we had to be good or Kevin would have to leave. So we were all trying to be good and he signed a bunch of autographs.. and I gave him his pillow. He took a bunch of other gifts too and smiled, hugged some girls... he was absolutely amazing! He is one of the sweetest guys I've ever met! Well, after all that was over and Kevin had left, (Which was so sad for some of us! We grew kind of attached to him. LOL) my mom and I and her boyfriend went upstairs to our room and got our tickets. We made some friends outside and they gave us a ride to the venue. We all laughed and talked and we went down to the bus garage and we saw Nick and AJ out there! AJ was smoking, BAD AJ! LOL... Well, we all went back up to the radio booths and this guy walked by.... and my God, he looked just like AJ. So my friend Brandy and I got our picture taken with him! He was nice too. After a while of walking around it was finally time to go inside... I met up with my mom again, and we got our bags checked. The guy took the purple teddybear we had for Howie... but let me keep my camera!!! HEHE! We had 10 rolls of film and we had 21st row on the floor this time! Well, it was awesome, Krystal, and Sisqo were so awesome! I can't think of another word, but damn they were so good! Well, our seats were right next to the bridge and my mom and I were dying from excitement! Well anyway, the lights went up while they were preparing for the Backstreet Boys, my mom and I were talking and laughing. The lights went back down and the screaming was so freaking loud! Geez, I thought I was gonna go deaf! They went through the show (I'm sure you've heard the performance lists) and I mean, they were amazing! Well, half way through the show, just as they were going to go over to the second stage.... my battery in my camera died!!!!!!!!!!!! I had forgot to bring the extra ones with me, I was so pissed off! I could have sworn I brought them with me, but damn it I forgot! Well, they got over to the second stage and started singing and my God, I wished I had my batteries. Anyway, the bridge came down, and my mom and I were trying to get their attention, so I pointed to Nick and mouthed 'I love you.' He mouthed back, 'I love you too!' I was freaking out!!!! LOL, my mom watched me mouth that to him and saw him mouth it back and she punched my arm! LOL Well, then Kevin walked across and I pointed to him and mouthed 'I love you' And he mouthed 'Thank you.' It was amazing!!! Me and my mom were having the best time! Well, while Howie was on the bridge, my mom blew him a kiss and he did his ever famous peace sign kiss back to her! She started crying!!!!!!!!!! It was so cool. Well anyway, this is getting so long, so let's get this to the point! We watched the rest of the concert, loving every minute of it... and let me tell you, after this meeting with them, I LOVE THEM EVEN MORE THAN BEFORE! We went back to the hotel after watching their buses leave.... and me, being stupid, started flirting with one of their dancers who was looking out the window of the bus! LOL

They didn't stay the night at the hotel, they left straight for the next city! But we now have that meeting in our hearts for as long as we live! We stayed in the hotel for the last night.... and woke up the next morning with just memories of what had happened the day before! (Yes, I finally got some sleep after 2 days of not sleeping!!!!!)
