To New Brunswick
Aug 2-3, 2003
We embark on our adventure, the open road before us. It's a perfect driving day ...
cloudy and raining. Little did we know that this weather pattern would persist for the
next two weeks!

Aug 2 9:16 am Everything is packed and we're ready to leave. |
Aug 2 9:37 am After only a few kilometers, we had our first problem. The trailer vent popped open in the rain. Pulling over, we unloaded enough baggage to insert our smallest family member, Derek, into the camper, and managed to get things quickly back under control. |
Aug 2 10:30 am Back on the road, the pilot fearlessly navigates towards the unknown. |
Aug 2 10:31 am The passengers display a variety of enthusiastic expressions, being overcome with anticipation of what lies ahead. |
Aug 2 5:00 pm After several hours, a washroom break and a meal, we cross into foriegn territory. |
Aug 2 5:33 pm Soon there is a refreshing glimpse of Lac St-Louis. Montreal is just around the bend. |
Aug 2 6:07 pm After carefully navigating through Montreal, we burrow beneath the St. Lawrence river via the Pont-Tunnel Lafontaine. |
Aug 2 6:22 pm Along the highway you can observe the occasional rocky outcropping thrusting up from the flat St. Lawrence valley. |
Aug 2 7:05 pm After nine and a half hours we reach Drummondville, PQ and find a local camping spot. |
Aug 2 7:28 pm Since we are only staying to get some sleep, we take the low-rate option of parking in the open field. |
Aug 3 8:01 am After a good sleep, everyone is recharged and ready to resume the journey. |
Aug 3 10:42 am Pretty towns and patterned fields dot the St. Lawrence valley. |
