You
You promised me so much,
but none of which,
I could touch.
You gave my heart false hope,
that we actually
had a chance.
You put music back into my life,
then wouldn't
let me dance.
You gave me back my wings,
but wouldn't
let me fly.
You dried all of my tears,
from heartaches
over the years.
But still deep inside,
I cried.
You gave me back happiness,
but wouldn't
let me smile.
You said that for me,
you'd go that
extra mile.
Knowing you were lying,
all the while.
You hung the moon and stars for me,
but wouldn't
them shine.
You gave me so many things,
that were never
really mine.
You picked up the pieces,
of my shattered world
and put them
back in place,
only to turn around,
and slap me
in the face.
Now,
thanks to you...
a love so true,
I will never find.
For, never again,
will I be so blind...
To open up my heart and mind,
to something like love,
something so unkind.
