So you want to know about the fun creature that is me? Well, there’s really not much to tell. In the last six months, my fic output has gone down somewhat due to the fact that I was in the final stages of university amnd was writing a 12,000 word thesis/dissertation thing on Shakespeare’s Monstrous Tragic Heroes (For anyone who wants to know, I got a 2B, which is very good!).
Mind you, in two days, in a break between writing dissertation chapters, I managed to write a 12,000 word chapter of The Eighth Weasley – oh, how I wish that I’d known I could do fanfic of some variety for my dissertation, but I didn’t find out until it was too late. It would have been so much easier and less research! I never thought I would spend so much time in the uni library, since I seem to be allergic to it (Dust. Everywhere. Sneezing really didn’t go down well with other occupants)
However, the dissertation was finished in the second last week of April and for a week after finishing it, all I could seem to do was lie on the bed and stare at the ceiling. My mind had blanked, which meant no fic was output. I thought that as soon as the papers were in, I would be able to write like crazy. Nope. My brain shut down for a week and I discovered how pretty my ceiling was.
Finally got back on track and spent some time catching up on online stuff, trying to get out of date websites updated, so I could actually say I had done something constructive, then I had a trip to London to see Ian McKellen live (squee!), then had friends visiting – two for one week, three for the next. Let me just say that chaos doesn’t come close and I got nothing written because I didn’t feel it would be polite to charge up the computer and start typing, especially since said friends were visiting from all over the country and world, even though they know what I’m like and that I type any time I can.
And, in the middle of their visit, my computer was disassembled and taken home from the uni accomodation, providing another minor problem when it came to actually typing anything. So, I was without computer. Then, after the friends left, I had to move home, whereby life was still chaotic – I was going to be home about a week, before moving to Sweden, so there was no point even getting the computer charged up. Moving was chaotic enough, on top of which, I was trying to plan for my graduation week, which is coming up in the first week of July. Robes to hire, tickets to buy, dresses and shoes to get. Yes, chaos. The fun.
Now, though, I’ve been in Sweden a month and have started working full time in a very tiring job, which means that I’m rather sleepy when I get in at night, so very little fic has ensued. Now, though, the muse is back and biting and since I’m getting into a routine, I think I’ll be able to get some work done fairly soon and I do want to thank all/any readers for their patience (also for those who voted for me in the Shadows and Dust Awarrds, I love you dearly! Whee! Best Crossover for Heir of Voldemort! I’m so giddy!)
Now, though, I must adjourn. I’m working and have to get from the house to work. Will try and finish the new Eighth Weasley chapter tonight or tomorrow. It already stands at 10 pages and isn’t even half done.
Take care!
