Harry Potter books/movies - Did you know:

1. Harry's middle name is James, after his dad.
2. There are about a thousand students at Hogwarts.
3. Wizards have a much longer life expectancy than Muggles.
4. Hagrid, Lily , and James were in Gryffindor. (Hagrid was NOT in Hufflepuff.)
5. Lily Potter's maiden name was Evans.
6. In the books, James Potter, Harry's dad, was a Chaser when he played on the Griffindor Quidditch team. But in the movies, he was the Seeker, like Harry.
7. James Potter inherited lots of money, so he didn't need a well-paying profession.
8. James Potter inherited the invisibility cloak from HIS father.
9. The fifth book will be shorter than the fourth. The fourth book will most likely be the longest of the series.
10. Ron's birthday is March 1, 1980.
11. Hermione's birthday is Spetember 19, 1980.
12. Dumbledore is 150, McGonagall is 70, and Snape is 35 or 36.
13. A Squib is a non-magic person that was born in a magical family.
14. The Hogwarts teachers do not stay at Hogwarts during the Christmas holidays. Filch, Hagrid and Dumbledore do.
15. To remove Dudley's tail (that Hagrid gave him in the hut on the rock), the Dursleys went to a private hospital where the staff was very discreet, and said that a wart had got out of control.
16. Azkaban prison is in the north of the North Sea. A very cold sea.
17. You can do unfocused and uncontrolled magic without a wand (like when Harry blows up Aunt Marge), but to do really good spells you need a wand.
18. The Ministry of Magic doesn't find out which children are magical. In Hogwarts there's a magical quill that finds the birth of magical children, and writes his/her name down in a book. Professor McGonagall checks the book, and send owls to those who are turning 11.
19. In the movie "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone", actor John Hurt, who plays Mr. Ollivander, wore special contact lenses to make his eyes look like moons!

1. She was born in Chepstow, gwent in 1965.
2. The "J.K." in her name stands for Joanne Kathleen.
3. The first story that she ever wrote was a stroy about a rabbit, called Rabbit, when she was only 6 years old.
4. She wrote two novels before Harry Potter, but never tried to publish them.
5. She went to a university called Exeter, in the United Kingdom.
6. She has a daughter named Jessica, and is recently remarried.
7. Harry is her favourite name for a boy. If Jessica had been born to be a boy, her name would've been Harry!
8. Her first Harry Potter book was written at a cafe table during her daughter's naps.
9. The author that she identifies with most is E. Nesbit. Her favourite writer of all times is Jane Austen.
10. Some of her fav. children's authors are E. Nesbit, Henrietta Branford and Paul Gallico.
11. In 2000, she was named the British Book Awards author of the year. She has also been awarded with The British Book Awards Children's Book of the Year and the Smarties Prize.
