MISTAKES          

When Harry is in the potions class he is caught writing notes down, we see his neat writing in close up ... but when the camera angle changes we can see that the writing has changed in size to very large letters and quite messy writing.

In the bit where Harry, Ron and Hermione are fighting the troll, when Ron knocks the troll out it falls flat on its face - but when Harry takes his wand out of its nose, its head is facing the right-hand side.

When the troll falls face-down, it appears the wand goes through his head. In the next shot, with his head turned, it's not.

When Harry, Ron, and Hermione are telling Hagrid that Snape is trying to steal the stone, he tells them that Snape helped protect the stone, and 'he's not about to steal it'. So far so good, sticks to the book. However when they actually try to save the stone, Snape's challenge, the logic one with potions, is missing!

How did Hermione know it was Harry Potter when on Hogwarts Express his scar was covered by his fringe?

In the begining of Harry Potter, you are shown as sequence when Harry's mother is being killed. When you are shown Harry is wearing a Blue's Clues romper suit - I do not recall Blue's Clues being around in the 80's.

When the three children get past Fluffy because the harp is playing, as Fluffy wakes he dribbles on Ron's shoulder. However, when they fall down into the Devil's Snare, his jumper is completely dry.

At the start of term feast, after Harry is sorted into Gryffindor, he sits down on the right side of the table next to Ron. When the feast appears, Harry is on the other side of the table, next to Hermione.

In the scene in Diagon Alley when Harry first enters there are some witches on the left hand side of the screen looking at what appears to be large lollypops and Harry walks past them. The camera angle changes and Harry walks past them again.

After the final confrontation Harry has scratches on his face, particularly one on his chin. When visited by Prof Dumbledore the chin scratch is barely there but in the scene in the refectory it is back and appears larger than before.

After the three heroes have been to investigate Fluffy and they go back to the dorms, Hermione goes to the left, when earlier on just after they were sorted the girls' dorm was said to be on the right.

In the scene when Harry, Ron, and Hermione visit Hagrid, Malfoy is visible through the window. He appears to be eye level with the window and is shown turning and running away. When the camera zooms out later in the film, the same window that Malfoy is supposedly looking through is far too high for anybody to see through without a ladder. He obviously didn't have a ladder or he would have fallen off it when he turned to run away.

After Harry escapes the restricted library with the cat following him, once he come across the professors the cat disappears.

At the end of the film when Harry recieves the photo album, the child in the photo is clearly older than 1, but his parents died when he was just 1.

In the game of chess Hermione takes her position as the queen-side castle and stands on a black square, but it should be a white square.

When Uncle Vernon puts a piece of wood over the letterbox, it is in one piece, but when the mail arrives, prior to it being ripped apart, there is a noticeable crack in it.

There is a flaw in the filming when Harry enters Diagon Alley. There is the Quidditch Shop on the right... if you watch the movie, they walk past this store and then from inside the store, you see Harry looking at the Nimbus 2000, yet they have already past that shop.

When they are standing in the cubby space in the back of the Leaky Caldron, you can see the door left open and the window. But when they are seen standing in the archway made by the shifting bricks entering into Diagon Alley, the door from the Leaky Caldron is closed and one touched it.

When Percy is walking on to Platform 9¾ there is a couple walking next to him, an older man with an umbrella now replaces the young man and women.

There are several scenes that Ron has part of his Gryffindor Crest on his cloak mis-stitched (Broom Lesson it's gone, Halloween Feast its there and then they go to get Hermione from the bathroom... its gone and then it reappears... is this a ghost too?).

When Harry receives his Nimbus 2000, there are not any "Gold" metal protrusions near the thatch of the broom, but as they are approaching the Quidditch field there they are. You can also see them in the window as Harry passes the Quidditch Shop in Diagon Alley.

During the chess match scene, the White Queen destroys the Black Castle twice in front of Harry.

During the chess match, when the three of them walk into the room and the lights go up, you can see the lighting crew cover up a light that is shining on the floor.

After the sorting ceromony harry was sitting on the left then after he was on the right.

In the movie, Hagrd tells Harry and Ron that he bought Fluffy from an Irish fellow but in the book Hagrid says that he bought him from a GREEK fellow. Surely it wouldn't have been hard to say that in the movie or would it have ?

When Uncle Vernon is burning the letters. He has 1 letter in his right hand and the other one in the left hand. Harry walks in at this time and Vernon looks at him and burns the letter which was in the left hand and the scene ends ! What happened to the other letter ?

In the book it says that Hermione supposed to have buck teeth and bushy hair but she has strait teeth and wavy hair.

When Harry, Ron, and Hermoine are in the Quidditch feild, Harry says something like he doesn't want to make a fool of himself and Hermonie says you won't it's in your blood, and they run to the tropey case and shows them a plauqe with, James Potter-Seeker. That wasn't in the book and James Potter was not a seeker.

In the book students at Hogwarts were only expected to have plain black robes and dragon-hide gloves but in the movie they have a full uniform and wool gloves.

In the books, it says that the bleachers are magically raised into the air, but in the movie they are supported by wood and have a staircase.

At the book, when the Dursleys knew about Hogwarts, they changed Harry to a better room. (He stayed at the cupboard) And at the trip to the Zoo, Dudley went with a friend, and they both fell in the snake's pond ( This never happened ) The Dursleys took Harry to the King Cross station, not Hagrid.

There were no potions at the end of the movie, when they tried to get through...

In the book it said dudley has blonde hair yet in the movie he has dark hair and he doesn't seem so fat as J.K. Rowling said he was !

In the "Fluffy scene" when they're going down Hermioine is supposed to play the flute that sounds like an owl to put Fluffy to sleep, but a enchanted harp does the job!! And when the harp stops playing Fluffy drools on Harry's shoulder and in the next scene is shirt is dry.

In the movie Oliver Wood says " took a bludger to the head" and in the book IT did not say that.

When Quirrell is at the mirror of Erised at the end how did he get through the devil's snare and the chess game and the flying keys? Shouldn't some chess pieces be broken

In the book, Harry was very tired and sleepy when Percy was leading the new Gryffindors to the Gryffindor common room but in the movie, Harry stayed out late with Hedwig...

The scene at the King Cross Station, there was a tall guy in a suit with a briefcase who said 'sorry' while running past Harry as if in a hurry, but when the shot angle changes, he's walking slowly away at the far end.

When Harry is looking at his mother in the mirror, you can see a reflection of a slide projector or camera.

When Harry is on the quidditch pitch and Oliver wood is first teaching him the names of the quidditch balls, when he lets the snitch go Harry watches it fly around but Oliver looks completely the wrong way...he is looking off to the side while the snitch is actually in front of Harry.

When Harry is in the Forbidden Forest, and comes across Voldemort and a dead unicorn, Voldemort drifts toward him. The camera view switches to behind Voldemort. On the left side of the screen is the back of someone's head, looking suspiciously like Draco Malfoy. Draco had earlier run away, very fast. So who was it?

When Harry is standing on his broom trying to catch the snitch, look at his pants. It is the same ones he was wearing at the end. I don't think your suppose to wear uniforms as casual clothing.

I found out that when Hermione is looking in the binoculars, the girl behind her looks like she is giving her bunny ears! And she is! Watch it in slow-mo.

In the Hogwarts Express when Ron and Harry are introducing each other the camera is on Ron then switches to Harry then back to Ron and in the first shot of Ron his part(in his hair) is in the middle but in the second it is on the side.

When Hermione is first shown on the Hogwarts Express, she is wearing blue stockings under her knee high socks, but then when they get off the train she isn't.

In the very beginning when Harry is getting his first letter he picks up the mail and there is 3 letters and then he looks at them in this order: postcard from Marge then a bill then the letter to Harry when he puts one behind the other he covers up the seal and when the camera goes to show that his name is on the mysterious letter then back the other letters aren't covering up the seal of Hogwarts.

Whenever Harry comes up with the idea that Hagrid was probably tricked into telling Quirell about how to get past Fluffy, Harry is talking and the whole time Hermione is mouthing Harry's lines.

On the first lesson about flying on brooms they show an over shot and you see all of the same broom over and over again. But whenever Ron says up and his broom hits him in the face his broom is black and is from then on.

Hermione is wearing a different skirt at the sorting than on the Hogwarts Express.

In the great hall in the beginning when nearly headless nick comes hermione says "nearly headless how could u be nearly headless?", Harry rolls his eyes!! When harry meets voldemort in the forest malfoy runs away early then when the camera switches back to harry (a little while later) u still see him running.

There is also a blooper in the broom stich traning. when harry comes down after catching the remembrall there is a is a delay before the class starts running to him.

When Harry and Ron arrive late for class the cat turns into the professor but when she walks towards them she doesn't have her glasses on but when she talks to them she does.
