Azkaban
Azkaban Fortress
The widely-known wizard prison, which houses the most infamous and dispicable criminals. Known occupants include: Rubeus Hagrid, Sirius Black, and Barty Crouch, Jr.
Location: Tiny island far off into the North Sea
Features:
- Dementors are the feared guards, who feed on the positive memories within the soul and mind of the inhabitants.
- Only a few people have been known to escape from the prison, including Sirius Black and Barty Crouch, Jr.
Godric's Hollow
The location of the cottage, in which Lily and James Potter lived before Lord Voldemort murdered them. Supposedly, Hagrid had rescued Harry from the disaster scene.

Features:
- It's exact location is not known, because Godric's Hollow is mainly referenced in Harry's continuing flashbacks.
- Believed to be the original cottage of Godric Gryffindor.
Diagon Alley
Widely known as the best collection of wizards store, Diagon Alley lies behind a regular Muggle street wall. Only a magical tap on the right brick will open up the door to Diagon.
Location: London, England
Features:
- Dark and full of owls, this shop has tons to choose from.
- The only ice cream shop currently known to exist, in Diagon Alley, is run by Florean Fortescue.
- A book shop run by Mr. Borgin, the items on sale are stacked to the ceiling and with books either the size of postage stamps, filled with strange symbols, or have nothing in them at all.
- The largest and most recognized goblin-run, wizard bank, Gringotts is located in several other places in the world, including Egypt. Within Gringotts, many goblin workers assist wizards and witches with their accounts. Beneath the ground, however, lie hundreds of tunnels, which lead to customer bank vaults. Every vault, and including the entire bank of course, is protected by a Muggle and thief-proof charm.
- This wizard pub may be the most famous one of them all in Diagon Alley. In addition to being a bar, The Leaky Cauldron is also a hotel inn, run entirely by
- A robe shop, featuring many different kinds of robes of different materials for both wizards and witches.
- A very crowded magical pet shop, with a large variety of animals, including: enormous purple toads, jewel-encrusted tortoise, poisonous orange snails, cats of every color, ravens, custard-colored furballs, and black rats.
- One of the best places to purchase a wand of your own. The owner, Mr. Ollivander has served many of the most famous wizards and witches including Lily and James Potter, their son, Harry, and even Lord Voldemort.
- This is yet another one of the best shops to buy something. This time, for Quidditch supplies, whether it be a new flying broom, polish, or other related items.
Hogsmeade
Location: In a little village, most likely north of Hogwarts.
Features:
It's rare, when you can find a really good sweets shop, but Honeydukes may top all of them. Their variety of different sweets is enormous. Underneath the store's old storage room, is a very long tunnel, leading from the shop to a secret entrance to Hogwarts school.
- Believed to be an old, haunted house by curious onlookers, it is actually the location of where Remus Lupin went on Full Moons to painstakingly transform into a werewolf. The Shrieking Shack is yet another end of a tunnel, leading to a secret entrance into Hogwarts.

- Possibly the best joke shop around, Zonko's is a favorite among many amateurs.
Hogwarts
This widely-known school has educated many of the most famous of wizards: Harry Potter, Albus Dumbledore, and Lord Voldemort. Further information can be found at this link.
Location: Not particuarly known, but most likely somewhere in Scotland.
Features:
- The Forbidden Forest can be found within the grounds of the school.
- There is a giant Quidditch field for games played at the school.
- There are seven secret passages, leading from Hogwarts underground to the village of Hogsmeade.
Knockturn Alley
These collection of stores involve aspects of Dark magic with lots of wizards being not to fond of it.
Location: Within Diagon Alley
Features:
- A fascinating, but smelly little shop, which is filled with bundles of feathers, strings of fangs, and other potion-making ingredients.
Quidditch World Cup Stadium
The most famous Quidditch playing field for international events of the sport. Many famous wizards and witches have traveled from far away to compete with others here.
Location: In the woods, on a deserted moor
Features:
- Every time Muggles get near this location throughout the year, they "suddenly remember urgent appointments" and had to hurry away to take care of them.
- Ten cathedrals could fit inside.
- 100,000 seats
- Muggle Repelling Charms surround every inch of the structure.
- Portkeys is the main way to arrive there.
- A giant blackboard is located opposite the Top Box, which is a score board that also features advertising.
- Golden light seems to come from the stadium itself, as it literally glows around.
