Parvati is a Gryffindor girl, the same year as Harry, Ron, and Hermione. In the first book, she is mentioned to have a twin sister, but only in Book Four do we learn her name, Padma. I'm not sure about the name Padma, but Parvati is an Buddhist goddess from India. The Goblet of Fire is the book that Parvati has the largest role. When Cho Chang refuses Harry's request to dance with her, he takes Parvati to the Yule Ball as his partner. Her sister, Padma, goes with Ron.
