about future booksThe next Harry Potter book....what everyone is waiting for. Since J.K. Rowling doesn't seem to be hurrying , fans occupy their time imagining or guessing from J.K.'s clues about what will happen. Here is a collection of guesses, far-fetched fancies, and thoughts that might actually happen in the next book! And if they don't, it doesn't matter -- HP rumors are a fun way to pass the time.
- Confirmed facts by JKR are black regular.
- Rumors unconfirmed by the author, but backed up by some evidence are dark red regular.

Now that book's out, we can see how many of these were true...
"JKR confirmed Ron will be the new keeper," according to Kyle.
- According to Heather: "Ron and Hermione will definitely 'get together'
in the 5th book and it WON'T be a Hermione/Harry because JKR said this countless times: 'Harry and Hermione have a platonic relationship, but I won't say for anyone else nudge nudge wink wink.' She is practically saying that Ron and Hermione will be together. Also, Ron will be the new keeper for Gryffindor and that is a known fact."- Katie thinks that "Harry and Hermione will be an item."
"Peter Pettigrew will kill Lupin with his silver hand" says Luz.
- OK A big revelation about Lily Potter.
- OK We will find out more about why some wizards/witches become ghosts and others don't!
Book 6
- Clarrisse says "JK Rowling is indeed herself a true witch. She'll appear as a character in the book and express multiple clues as to the next book."
- According to Juliana B., "Eu concordo com a ideia de que Luna Lovegood gosta do Rony. E eu acho que isso vai fazer Hermione ficar com ciumes ou alguma coisa do tipo. Eu espero que eles comecem a namorar. Rony e Hermione eu quero dizer. Porque eh obvio que eles gostam um do outro."
Translation from the Portuguese: "I agree with the idea that Luna Lovegood likes Ron. I think that this will make Hermione be jealous or something similar. I expect that they will start to date. I want to say that it's Ron and Hermione because it's obvious that they like one another."
- Juliana says, "Rony e Hermione irão se apaixonar um pelo outro, dando um toque de romance na história."
Translation from the Portuguese: "Ron and Hermione will fall in love with each other, giving a touch of romance in history."
- Juli also thinks that "Harry se apaixonará por uma professora de defesa contra as artes das trevas igualmente como o professor de possões Severo Snep, assim aumentará a competividade entre os dois."
Translation from the Portuguese: "Harry will get passionate for the teacher of Defense Against the Dark Arts and so will Professor Severus Snape, teacher of Potions, thus increasing the competition between the two."
- In Elf's opinion, "Luna will give Hermione a run for Ron - note on the train in book 5 she said she would not mind the not dancing. She laughs a little too loud and long at his jokes. She wore the Hat (Lion Head) for 'Ron's' Quidditch match. She likes to hum 'Weasley is our King.'"
- CRG thinks that in either Book 6 or 7, "Fudge will turn out to be one of the unnamed death eaters. At the end of GOF, when they are trying to convince him Voldemort is back, he is smiling!! Like he is happy about it. Plus, in book 5 he works like crazy to keep the rumors quiet. Did he fear unfounded panic, or was he helping Voldemort get stronger in secret??"
- According to Kevin, "Harry & Luna will get together. Luna's introduction in book 5 is to give Harry someone who has also seen death & to comfort him somewhat."
- Anna thinks that "Ron & Hermione will HOOK UP!! (5th book; when Hermione asks Ron if he agrees with Harry's plan to talk to Sirius in the fire, Harry 'was reminded irresistibly of Mr. & Mrs. Weasley')."
- According to M.A., "No one will die. Too many people already have and JKR is sick of killing them off."
- Andy thinks that "Cornelius Fudge will retire as Minister of Magic - we know the JKR takes her 'mini=plots' from mythology and on the Internet I found out that there was a Pope named Saint Cornelius, whose reign was marked by the controversy over the lapsed (those under persecution who had renounced Christianity). Cornelius's leniency toward the lapsed drew the support of the bishop of Carthage, St. Cyprian, but aroused the opposition of the Roman priest Novatian. He was exiled, then martyred in 253, where he was succeeded by Bishop Saint Lucius. (that's worth a shiver up your spine!) I think Lucius Malfoy will become Minister of Magic BUT isn't he arrested as a Death Eater at the end of bk. 5 - oops!!!"
- According to Jennifer, "Neville Longbottom is Harry Potter's secret keeper."
- The Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher will be a female (JKR has confirmed that there WILL be a female DADA teacher). Some say it'll be Fleur Delacour.
- It will be darker than either book 4 or 5.
- Sunshine says, "Dudley will break his leg."
Book 7
- According to Alyson, "Harry will find out that he is a clone of Voldemort, and Lily and James stole Harry from Voldemort."
- Beverly Horlacher says that "J.K Rowling has stated that in the seventh book a relationship will start brewing between Hermione and Ron." [Melinda's note: A relationship more than just friends, you mean?]
- Padfoot considers the possibility that "Harry might see James, Sirius, and Lily again..??"
- Kevin thinks that "Snape will tell Harry why he turned spy against Voldemort."
- According to Linda, "Harry will probably not be the one who kills Voldemort. I think Neville will bring Voldemort to his doom."
- Sirius says that in Books 6 and 7, "Harry will inherit Sirius Black's bike because he is dead. With that, his house and his vault at Gringotts. He will give the contents to Ron."
- Jessica thinks that "We will learn more about Snape."
- Harry's scar will magically disappear as he defeats Voldemort and the spell is gone, with You-Know-Who's powers drained.
- Neville will teach at Hogwarts. I've heard a rumor that in Book 7, "someone will teach at Hogwarts, but it isn't Harry, Ron, or Hermione." When I looked up the name Neville in my name book, the stereotype is "a forgetful professor." Well, he already has the forgetful part...
- An old rumor on the web is that Harry and Draco would team together to fight evil in Bk. 7. This rumor was crushed by J.K.'s assertion that this will "definitely not happen."
- This will be the longest book ever.
- The last word will be "scar."
Miscellaneous
- Mrs. Weasley's family died when she was a child. That's why she wanted a big family and is so afraid of them dying.
- Gemma thinks that "Harry is a Metamorphmagus because in the first book when Mrs. Dursley cut his hair really short, he was thinking really hard about it and how embarrassing it would be to go to school the next day. He wanted his hair to grow."
- Kevin believes that "Fred & George may produce some items in the second war. It would be funny if someone tried to use an object as a portkey & the object turned into a fish!"
- According to Meow, "Neville likes Ginny. I think this because at the end of book 5, when Umbridge rounded all of Harry and his friends up, Neville tried to protect Ginny from being taken, which ended in both their captures. Also, they go to the Yule Ball together."
- Kevin says that "All the Death Eaters refrain from saying Voldemort's name. I believe the Dark Mark on their skin burns or something else happens to them whenever someone mentions Voldemort. Evidence in Prisoner of Azkaban in the Shrieking Shack, Order of the Phoenix => Occlumency Lesson in Snape's office & Bellatrix's outrage at the Dept. of Mysteries."
- According to Auchie, "Snape will be sort of a mentor to Harry since Sirius died. I know it's weird but during Occlumency lessons they seem to learn more about each other. Sounds unlikely but I'm sticking to it."
- Maggie says, "Harry and Ginny will end up together."
- Meow thinks that "He will wake up and it will all be a dream."
- According to Meow, "Bellatrix Lestrange is an animagus or has some sort of special power. How else would she not go mad and muttering like everyone else in Azkaban?"
- Andy says, "Snape will die and we will hear more about Karkaroff. In the grave yard at the end of book 4, Snape talks about the Death Eaters who aren't there."
- Alina thinks "that Lily Potter had some relation with Voldemort so he had to kill Harry and his father at the first place. It's mentioned in Harry Potter part one that Dumbledore hesitated to tell Harry that why Voldemort wanted to kill him at the first place and he also said that he would tell Harry later on and when Harry will have a courage to listen it. He said that Harry would hate to listen it. It tells us that Harry's mother had some relation with Voldemort."
- Claudia says: "J.K. is going to have a baby and she will have to stop writing for a YEAR!! And she is happy to not have a lot of stress to finish the one she is writing!!"
- Kayla tells us: I think J.K. will write a series about James Potter's life after she finishes the Harry Potter Series... It will not only thrill fans but she will literally become a billionaire."
- Meow says: "Mrs. Norris is an Animagi. In Bk. 2, she gets petrified, but why? Voldemort wouldn't hurt a pure blood creature, and if he was going for the "Squibb", why didn't he? Why the cat? And the only way for the cat to be a Muggle-born would be for it to be a wizard!!!! :O"

thinks that "Lucius Malfoy will be exposed as a Death Eater by his own son."

"Fleur cannot be a defense against the dark arts teacher. She completely failed to break free from the grindylows in the triwizard tournament anyway.
Also Neville can't exactly be Harry's secret keeper (not at the moment,
anyway) because Harry doesn't really need it.
And the thing about Fudge being replaced by Malfoy *shivers* I hope
it's not true, but it just might be!"
- Gezzika's opinion is "Okay on the Crookshanks being Mrs Figg, at first I thought it was a good idea but Mrs Figg is a women, right, and it says in the book that Crookshanks is a he... Unless there is something unsaid that when you turn in to an animagi you change sexes.. then HHHHMMMMM."
- Marie says, "The rumors about Crookshanks and Mrs. Figg are FALSE... It clearly says in Book 5 that Mrs. Figg is a squib.. IF she is a squib, how can she be an animagus?"
- Sage Delacour's feedback:
"OK, about the Crookshanks rumor: I don't think that is so. It might be, but in the third book when Harry asks about Crookshanks, Sirius says no it's a normal cat but the smartest ones I have ever met.
I don't know that Fleur will be that DADA teacher because they need all of the protection around Harry as much possible so what better than to have Mrs. Figg as a teacher? But also what about when he is at home during the summer? He needs Mrs. Figg there. I guess she could come home every summer with him.
And about Mrs. Norris I believe that she is an animagi because why else would filch be so in love with her? but I don't think that her getting petrified has any thing to do with it."
