A very clever Gryffindor. One of Harry's best friends and always the voice of reason for Ron and Harry. She is from a muggle family, but is an exceptional witch and excels in her studies. She takes her schoolwork very seriously. She is described as having a bossy voice, bushy brown hair, and, prior to Book 4, rather large front teeth.
