Refer of Copy

refer or copy?

While setting up an information system the developer mainly has two option to put the information on the webpage - Copy the matter or put a Hyperlink to the information to its original source. But while doing this, one has to be very careful as both the options have their own pros and cons.

Advantages of copying the information:
       Permanent storage and direct access to information.
       Typically suitable for information which is meant for a particular version of something which will
       not be changed and saved in an archive.

Advantage for refering copy (putting a hyperlink):
When the information is updated on its parent site, you will either have to have a way of finding
out, and make a fresh copy, or you will end up with an out of date copy.

Thus, depending on the type of information input, the author could decide on the better option for him.
