IT'S IN THE CARDS _______________________________________________________ The Ace of Clubs: The Accumulations Card This is the card of knowledge. The Ace of Clubs is a true philologist. Constantly seeking out new fields of inquiry and examining the depths of the topic: a scholar. Impatient, the Ace of Clubs has small tolerance for the inane and the superficial. The hallmark of the Ace of Clubs is curiosity. Intelligent and immersed in book learning the holder of this card is also highly intuitive and insightful. Restless in the presence of rules and regulations, they are more at home in libraries than in corporate offices. The Ace of Clubs can be needy and demanding of those who enter their sphere of influence, but they always give as much as they demand. Precision and excellence are expected. When their expectations are not met they can be merciless. Cultivate this one! Just as they accumulate scholarly information they accumulate spiritual knowledge. Wisdom may be long in coming, but it comes in abundance. ________________________________________________ The Two of Clubs: The Transformation Card This is the card of opposites. The Two of Clubs is both uncertain and filled to the brim with confidence. The hallmark of the Two of Clubs is antithesis. The holder of this card seeks recognition, but dislikes crowds; they fear being alone, but yearn for solitude; they demand attention and then pillory those who give it; they are reclusive to the point of pathology, but seek the spotlight... ... It is only the natural creativeness and their undeniable presence that keeps them from being completely ostracized and disapprobation. If, not when, the Two of Clubs is able to recognize the abundance that surrounds them they are transformed into exceptional friends and lovers. Fear is the killer. ________________________________________________ The Three of Clubs: The Card of Inheritance This is the card of gifts. All that is required is available, it is only a matter of understanding that we come fully equipped and that material goods are but the stage setting. The hallmark of the card is manifestation: manifesting that which is inherent. When the holder of this card ventures into realms of fancy or hubris they are ineffectual and at a loss. When they manifest a core philosophy and live by that philosophy every success is theirs. Beware the frivolous Three of Clubs, they will carry you away with their charisma, but abandon you when they spot something that they view as "better". ________________________________________________ The Four of Clubs: The Achievement Card This is the card of stubborn determination. What the holder of this card sets out to do they will do. While by no means hidebound, they demonstrate a degree of assiduity that is awesome to behold. While the hallmark of this card could be declared to be argument, it is not quarrelsome in nature, but is debate designed to unfold or expand. Never shy at expressing opinions the holder of the Four of Clubs revels in challenges and is the first to admit that a change of attitude, opinion or direction is needed. This card is success, cultivate it. ________________________________________________ The Five of Clubs: The Quest Card This is the card of restless desire. Never fully certain of what the quest is about, the journey becomes the end rather than the means. Through disappointment and disillusionment the holder of this card finally realizes that the diary of a journey details little more than superficialities and that it is the intangibles that carry the import. At that juncture they can begin to detail their spiritual quest, the journey of greatest import. Personal growth becomes the desire and restlessness is channeled to seeking an end to ignorance. ________________________________________________ The Six of Clubs: The Attainment Card This is the card of purpose and responsibility. The Six of Clubs is the talisman of veracity. When held aloft as a baton, the Six of Clubs eliminates all limits and barriers. When set ablaze the light of the Six of Clubs illuminates every corner. When the Six of Clubs is set as a guidepost the path becomes clear. The hallmark of the Six of Clubs is information. Information to dispel rumor, prejudice, dogma and bigotry: information to conquer fanaticism, obsession and bias. The attainment of this card is beyond question, founded on serenity and based on purpose. ________________________________________________ The Seven of Clubs: The Card of Discernment This is the card of doubt and despair, followed closely by optimism and accomplishment. The doubt and despair arise when the holder of this card shuns inspiration and insight. The accomplishment is a result of harnessing the power of negativity and channeling that power into action. The hallmark of this card is learning discernment. By nature we are open and childlike. We start out being naïve and totally accepting. It is through experience that we learn to separate the inane from the important, the misinformation from the information, the trash from the treasures:discernment, a hard taskmaster, but one that is necessary to avoid being a gull. Learning discernment and shedding gullibility allows the holder of the Seven of Clubs to apply themselves and to achieve, especially on a spiritual level. ________________________________________________ The Eight of Clubs: The Card of Prowess This is the card of fearless endeavor and fixed attention. Great success and acknowledgement are associated with this card. As with all of life nothing comes without a price. The price paid by the holder of this card is rigidity and aloofness. The hallmark of this card is segregation. Every aspect of life fits neatly into its cubbyhole and seldom intermingle. That creates a lack of diversity in outlook and a humorless deportment that is easily read as arrogance. Perhaps Johann Wolfgang von Goethe said it best, "I can promise to be sincere, but not to be impartial." ________________________________________________ The Nine of Clubs: The Card of Attributes. This is the card of inherent characteristics. It is the card of accumulation and dispensing. It is the card of garnering and dispersing, not as alms, but as joyous sharing. The hallmark of the Nine of Clubs is return; what is given is returned nine-fold. The gift of knowledge readily given to empower can only reflect upon the giver in radiance. This card is pleasure. Pleasure taken, engulfed and then shared. It is the card of sexuality and sensuousness fully possessed, fully enjoyed. The Nine of Clubs is the indicator of an ending. A cycle has been made and an event is required to mark the development. Every ending is a beginning. New adventures await the holder of this card. Rejoice! ________________________________________________ The Ten of Clubs: The Card of Elucidation This is the card that declares, "Do it! Just DO it." Enough talk has taken place, now it the time for action, or as has been uttered, "Walk your talk." More time is spent in making decisions than in carrying them out and the Ten of Clubs is forcing our hand. Every choice has its consequences, but if the holder of this card is forever debating the merits of the decision that is all that will be accomplished, debating. It is more than a matter of control to move beyond the decision making stage. It entails determination, persistence, discrimination and courage. So, screw your courage up and move it! ________________________________________________ The Jack of Clubs: The Card of Impatience This is the card of cutting through the meat to the bone; of eliminating the hyperbole and exposing the core; of shoveling the muck to get to the treasure. The Jack of Clubs is jovial and personable, but is quick to see through the mask. The hallmark of the Jack of Clubs is irascibleness in the face of inanity or falsity. They recognize both, as it is their own failing. The failing that they have worked long and hard to contain. The holder of this card demands respect and they have earned it through diligence and perseverance. They are only as demanding of others as they are of themselves. It does not pay to attempt to fool the Jack of Clubs. He is all knowing and all seeing... ________________________________________________ The Queen of Clubs: The Card of Contrary The Queen of Clubs rules a land of contrariety and extremes. This is the card of authority and eloquence faced-off with pettiness and laxity. The hallmark of this Queen is responsibility and the lack thereof. This Queen is a past master at censure and faultfinding; her subjects are most certainly responsible for providing for her. Providing not only for her physical comforts and well being, but also shouldering any dispraise that may come her way. Her whipping boy expiates her every shortcoming, fault or faux pas. The potential for greatness is hidden behind a queenly garment woven of bluff and misplaced responsibility. The Queen of Clubs may be hailed as the inventor of the blame-game. The holder of this card would do well to shed that guise and shoulder self-responsibility. Then and only then can the puissance burgeon. This card is a mirror. Look only if you are willing to see. Inner wisdom is there and it can be excavated, but it will be neither easy nor painless. ________________________________________________ The King of Clubs: The Second Nature Card This is the card of long habit and extensive practice. Responsibility and respect are the hallmarks of the King of Clubs. The distinctions allotted to the person holding this card are well earned for the espoused doctrines are theirs by dint of hard work and scholarship. Nothing second hand or unexamined for this King. Inexhaustible determination to understand is fed by the desire to live on their own terms. The King of Clubs is a goodly inspiration. We would all do well to emulate him. __________________________________________________
