PARTS RECOVERED FROM THE CRASH SITE OF P-51D-15-NA #44-15379

Parts recovered from the crash site of P-51D-15-NA # 44-15379, (LC-N) piloted by Lt. John C. Cowley, 77th. Fighter Squadron, 20th. Fighter Group, on 5 April 1945 near Brussels Belgium. He was injured while bailing out of the aircraft but soon recovered. These parts were recovered in September 2003. The aircraft was similar to the one pictured below.

The brown "knob" appears to be made of bakelite and has AERIAL TUNING on it's face, as can be seen part of it has been broken off. The wire and connector are aprox. 7 inches in length in total, the connector appears to be chrome and is threaded on the end nearest the actual wire. The switch appears to be a single pole, single throw type. All are in good shape for items that have been in the ground nearly 60 years.
