Tears...

After yet another conference, Prime Minister Relena Peacecraft left unnoticed from the post conference cocktail. For the first time in her life, she felt so tired of mingling with people and wanted a time for herself.

“Peygan, please bring me home now,” Relena said tiredly as she sat at the back seat of her limousine.

“As you wish, Miss Relena,” Peygan acknowledged without further questions. He saw the tiredness mirroring in her eyes and he was more than glad to bring her home to rest.

“Thank you,” Relena said going out of the car as soon as they reached their destination, without waiting for her trusted butler to open the door. “Go to bed, Peygan, and please, cancel my appointments tomorrow. I am in dire need of rest.”

“My sentiments exactly, Miss Relena,” Peygan replied through the window of the car towards who was climbing up the stairs towards the front door. “It’s good to know that you are coming to your senses. I’ve been meaning to tell you that for years!”

Relena looked back with a sincere smile pasted on her lips as Peygan drove away.

Relena fitted the keycard through the automated lock system of the door. She was glad that the household staff was on vacation for the weekend and she was left peacefully alone.

As soon as she stepped in the darkened hallway, she leaned back at the closed door and closed her eyes.

“Alone atlast,” she muttered to her self. Then she gave a rueful laugh and said, “Or should I say alone again.”

She pushed herself away from the door and ascended the winding staircase towards her room. “It’s your fault anyway,” she said shaking her head in dismay. “It’s been five years now and still you have not accepted the fact that he never felt as strongly as you do, that you are waiting for nobody.”

“There is no harm in waiting, is there?” she counter-asked herself.

“But you are not getting any younger. And confining yourself with the only thought that someday he will come will make your life more miserable.”

She gave a good laugh while removing her clothes for the bath. “My God, the household staff would freak out if they hear me talking to myself!” then she sighed and walk towards closed glass door that leads to a small balcony of her room. She slid the glass door open about half a foot to let the cool night breeze in.

Clad only in her undergarments, she clutched her blouse on her bosom as she enjoyed the breeze with her eyes closed. The night breeze made the lace curtain and her silk hair flow around her, making her a perfect image of an ethereal goddess.

For what it seems like an eternity, she just stood there, relaxed. Unbeknown to her, a lone figure in her darkened room drank in her beauty without making any sound.

Heero Yuy stood there with his eyes full of longing and darkened by desire. For years he had been dreaming of seeing her like that and finally a chance was laid for him. Watching her from afar seemed like an agony. But watching her within a couple of feet away was an excruciating pain. Years of mustering all his self control came crumbling down with his longing. He tried maintaining a distance between the two of them because he knew that they were not meant to be.

But he was slowly losing control.

He was starting to lose his sanity.

Relena still waited. But to what extent? He heard her said so himself, that she had decided to go on, to let go of the memories. To move on. He should be happy. That would be the end of everything between them. But still…

He could not make it happen.

He just could not let go.

He lost so much, but he could not lose her.

And the consequences be damned…

“Relena,” Heero said, quietly.

Relena turned to face the source of the voice, eyes wide with shock. She clutched her blouse more tightly to her half nude bosom.

Heero emerged from the shadows towards the moonlight coming in from the glass door. He still looked rugged but this time, nature took its course and molded him into a tall and handsome man with well-chiseled facial attributes and well built body.

“Heero,” Relena whispered. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. “Oh, God, please don’t be so cruel as to torment me this way,” she muttered, shaking her head in disbelief. “It’s not real. He’s not real. He can’t be here with me,” she chanted as if like a prayer. A tear fell down from her eye.

Heero closed the remaining distance between them. Warm hand that held the promise of reality engulfed her knuckles tightly clutching her blouse. His other hand brushed the tear that fell down on her paled cheeks. Relena opened her eyes wide at the contact.

“Why can’t I be real?” Heero said quietly. “I am here, standing right in front of you.” Control be dammed. He had a fare share of it before but he would not let anything stop him now. Five years were an eternity. Nobody knew how he pushed himself to the limit during the days, just so to forget the lady that invaded his dreams at night.

“But… but…”

Heero unclutched her hand and placed it on his chest, right on the spot where his heart was beating widely. “I am here now, Relena. Feel me. Feel my heart beating with love for you.”

Relena bent and shook her head, she felt as if everything around her was spinning uncontrollably. Heero lifted her head up and kissed her thoroughly.

As if they had a mind of their own, her arms wrapped themselves around his neck and her lips savored his kiss.

Years of yearning made him forgot what he was doing as he slid his hands down her sides and up again to cup her bosom.

She tried to break free of his hold and demand an explanation but gave a moan of surrender to what he did instead. Heero broke the kiss only to trail more kisses down her neck, which Relena arched to expose more skin.

“Relena,” he muttered breathlessly. He lifted his head to look deep into her eyes. “I’m sorry.”

Then his lips descended once more upon hers for a deep kiss as he worked his way to remove the remains of Relena’s clothes. Afterwards, he lifted her towards her bed and gently laid her down.

Fear clouded her vision as Heero stood up but was quickly replaced with desire as he removed his shirt. Then before the cold night air could touched her body, Heero laid down beside her and trailed kisses down her breasts.

“Relena,” he said softly as he worked his kisses upwards toward her thoroughly kissed lips. He breathed in her scent, and it was the way he remembered it well. He learned the texture and the curves of her body with stimulating touches which he dreamt of doing during those long tortured sleepless night. She changed, physically. The girl he felt in love with was a woman now. His woman…

The thought excited him. She moaned with his every exploration, although she, too, traced every muscle on his torso. Her light feathery touches excited him even more.

Heero positioned himself on top of her, careful though that she would not get crushed with his weight. He broke the kiss once more to look deeply into her eyes. Those prussian eyes looked even darker with desire. “Relena?” he asked.

“Yes,” she answered softly, granting him whatever he was asking. She was beyond thinking anymore. She had been waiting long enough and to hold on back now would only bring her more misery. It was better to have one night with him with a memory that she would treasure until her dying days than having no memory at all. Consequences be damned.

Relena cried out in pain at his entry. Heero stilled himself until her body adjusted to his presence inside her. He trailed kisses down her neck towards her bosom. His kisses were more passionate and sensual than before. Ecstasy filled him with the knowledge that he was the only one in her life. She was his, as he, hers. Nothing would come between them from now on, that he swore. He would not let go this time.

Relena moved her hips adjusting her position and was surprised that she did not feel pain anymore. Instead, something wonderful, sensual. She combed her fingers through his hair and lifted his head from her breast so she could look at him. She saw the passion darkening his eyes, which made her smile. She brought down his head until their lips met while they locked gazes, encouraging him to continue what he was doing.

“Mission accepted,” he breathed out teasingly against her lips, and surprised Relena even more when he smiled.

He commenced his cadence slowly at first, then intensified his movement until both of them reached the summit at the same time.

Heero eased off on top of Relena and laid himself beside her. He gathered her close to him, wrapping his arms around her naked form. Sated, Relena nuzzled Heero’s neck while she dozed off, feeling satisfied and loved. Tears of happiness that she cannot contain fell from her closed eyes.

Heero kissed her forehead. “Sleep,” he said softly. “My love.”

Long after Relena dozed off, sleep took over his being for the first time in his life, taking him into a world he never knew existed.

The following morning, Relena was wakened by the sunlight on her face from the glass door of the terrace. She stretched and felt a warm flesh against her back. She turned her head and caught the smile on Heero’s face. “So, it wasn’t a dream after all,” she said and smiled back at the man she dearly loved.

“No,” he confirmed and brushed the lock of hair that covered her face.

Suddenly, Relena’s smile faded. “But why did you disappear for almost half a decade? Didn’t you know how much lonely I have been? I thought you are not coming back anymore. I thought you forgot about me. For thousands of times, thoughts of you already dead crossed my mind and I felt I had died too a thousand deaths. Oh, Heero…”

Heero rose himself and leaned back against the headboard, gathering Relena in his arms. “I’m sorry. Making you so miserable was the last thing I would ever do to you. That was why I left, to find my way. I love you the first time we met. But we both know that we lead a different path. I have a stained past while you have an important future. I have to make both ends meet. That’s why I worked… for a future… with you.”

Relena felt that no past existed from then on. Everything had been a nightmare, which was now over for they woke up to reality.

Heero slid his hands up and down Relena’s bare back as he continued on, “Quatre made me a partner in his business endeavors, he handles the L3 Colony, while I handle the L1 side.”

Relena pushed herself up to look at Heero with admiration. “That’s wonderful!”

“We do well and I guess I would say I have found my future if…”

Relena frowned in alarm. “If?”

“If you would do me the honor of becoming my wife,” Heero said and reached from the bedside table to get a small box with an engagement ring inside.

Her eyes widened with shock at the beautiful ring. “Oh, Heero, yes. Yes.”

He slid the ring on her finger and Relena kissed him on his lips. “I’ve been trying to ask you for days now but I could not get the right timing until yesterday. I have always watched you from afar but decided to get closer when I heard that you had your staff on vacation. A perfect chance to get you to myself.

But something was still bothering me, do you think our children would hate me if they knew that their father was a former assassin?” Heero’s voice clouded.

Relena cupped his face and looked deeply into his eyes. “No, they wouldn’t,” she stated. “They will be proud that their father fought for peace and save the earth from destruction. I will not have degrading yourself from now on, Heero. If not for you, I would have died a long time ago.” She wrapped her arms around him tightly.

“I love you,” Heero said.

“I love you,” Relena replied.

Heero cupped her upturned bosom. “How about let us start right now with having a family so I wouldn’t have to wait any longer to find out about how our children would feel about me?” Heero said nuzzling her neck.

Relena gave a soft moan. “Mmmm… let’s do that.”

Once more, they were locked together in a passion more intensifying and earthshaking than before.
