Welcome to Backroads
with Ray & Jo Ann
We have traveled this great nation from coast to coast and from border to border.  While some of our travels have been by air, most of our trips have been in a car, pickup or motorhome.  We prefer ground travel because you can stop and smell the roses along the way if you so desire.  We have taken a few cruises and enjoyed evey minute on CARNIVAL CRUISE LINES but there is something special about heading down the road in your R.V. We have had breakfast at the top of Wolf Creek Pass and among the rocks and cactus at Terlingua TX. There are not adjectives enough to describe  these experiences.

TRIP PLANNING

Up until this time, we have had to plan our trips, but we have always looked forward to the day when we could go where we want, when we want and if we want.  There are several things you should check before you hit the road.  I get on my computer and check for all
WALMARTlocations.  I tell my wife if you can't buy it at WALMART you don't need it. I must admit that I own stock in the company but I like the way I am treated there.  My wife likes to shop around but I think that is a woman thing.  I also have my trusty RAND McNALLY purchased at my favorite shopping place. .

FINANCIA
L

Here is the stumbling block to most decisions to hook'em up and head'um out.. Where do we get the $$$$$? This is a big question that all must look at before they strike out for the wide blue yonder.  We have been planning our full timing for years and have an income.  Jo Ann is a Postmaster with 22 years postal service and has a retirement but more important, insurance.  We must pay the premiums but it is much less that what most people pay for the same coverage. I have been self employed most of my life. I have owned a pest control company, construction company, two tabloid newspapers, travel agency and a ranch. I have a small Social Security income. We have been placing as much as we could into the stock market.  We have mutual funds as well as personal investments that I have made throug
h SHAREBUILDER. This is a way for you to invest without having a broker.

AMSOIL
is another way that I and many others supplement our income. I am convinced that all motorhomes and tow vehicles should have AMSOIL in the tranmission. If you would like to purchase product or would like to supplement your income click on www.allamerican-synthetics.com and we will all be winners.

After 6 years on the road we have adjusted the percentages.  Gas and medical have almost doubled.  Campsites 10%, Transportation 50%, Food 25% Clothes .03% Medical .7% Propane .02% and personal .03 Now as you can tell from the Website name we like to boondock or rough it, so our campsite % is less than the allocated percentage.
