Alone | Silent Chaos | Sarah |

Alone

Is the redness far above
the last traces of the sunset,
or did your lips lazily
graze the sky??

Are those dark clouds
in the distant horizon,
or did you just let down
your hair to fall upon your shoulders??

Is that a drop of dew
on the rose petal,
or is it a tear
that came to a stop on your cheek
as it rolled down??

Is that a ripple
caused in the sea
of my thoughts,
or is it just a frown
on your lovely forehead
as you tossed a worry in your mind??

Is that a pause
between your name
and an echo
within these empty walls,
or is it a void you left
in my life after you were gone??

Silent Chaos

Lying on the floor
of my room,

books and CDs thrown
around in disorder,
creating an image of
casual and silent chaos,

the radio plays on,
a hard rock song in the air,
speakers thrumming from the
vibrations of the drums,

my temple throbbing from
the searing headache that
started an hour ago,

all I am doing is thinking of you,
and I realize
that everything else is just details,
but you...

Sarah

I was not looking for you
when I walked into another room
filled with chaos and disarray,

I did not mean to strike up
the conversation that would promise
to last a lifetime~

I was not searching for you
when I turned over yet another dull page
of my life,

I did not mean to enter into
a garden of thoughts that would sprout wings
to my aspirations~

But through the walls of despair,
over the cacophony of fake laughter,
and amidst the echoes of meaningless goodbyes and hellos,
I heard your voice…

My walk became a stride,
My smile touched my eyes,
My tears tasted sweet,
And I dreamt with open eyes.
