A Sparrow's Dream | Am I Falling? | A Battle Worth Fighting For | AfterMath of A Love Story

A Sparrow's Dream

I loved a girl once,
I loved her so much and so intensely,
I could beg from beggars to make her happy,

She liked these diamonds so much,
So I went to a store where they sold rocks as such,
I asked the guy, "Hey Mister, can I see the biggest diamond you have?"
He looked at me and his hands disappeared,
And out came this big and Sparkling diamond, that made my heart almost cave,
Fit for any queen,
But hey, my girl was no less than a queen!!

I swallowed and said, yeah I want that one, and put it in a nice box too,
And gave him the few pennies that I saved the whole year,
"Will that do?"

He just looked at me and guffawed so loudly,
Like he heard the funniest joke of his life!
It was the most cruel laughter I had ever heard,
Then he gritted his teeth and said to me,
"You'd need a lot more of those
if you want to buy this stone sonny"

My tears as I went home dejectedly, with a pain unknown,
Would have even melted a stone..

She liked these beautiful red dresses that her
Friends spoil her with sometimes, and I wish they'd stop,
Can you blame me then that I went to this very posh shop?
And gathered enough courage to ask the lady,
"How much does this red dress cost?"
she told me, "work like a slave and save like a pauper, for three years,
and then come back if you really want to know."
Which I understood was my cue to get lost.

I bowed my head and walked out that store,
The cruel stare of the lady burning the skin on my back,
And the words stinging like pins melted in fire in every pore...

So, my hands empty and my heart full I walked to her house,
Hoping to feel like a million dollars upon seeing that heavenly smile of
hers,

I saw a strange car at her doorway,
And a beautiful guy waiting for her in a red car with
The top drawn down, as it was a beautiful day.
She came out looking so happy, wearing that beautiful red dress,
with a big diamond on her fingers,
and had that beautiful smile On her face
that looked as if it was borrowed from Heaven,
I suddenly felt like a million dollars,

And an emptiness as she kissed the stranger on the lips,
that was more than my heart could embrace,
And they rode into the sunset with trailing dust that blew on my face,

And I knew what it felt like to have everything and nothing.
And I knew what love really was...

Later as I lay on the grass in a football field,
I heard the birds sing as I closed my eyes,
The stars shined as I looked up at the sky,

They seemed so close, but I couldn't catch one,
Even though I reached out my hands to try...

Am I falling?

Am I falling in love??

All I know is that
I am standing on the edge
Of the cliff

And just a delicate breath
You exhale will be my downfall~

Am I falling in love??

When all I can think of
Is when I'll see you again,

And just any ring on my telephone,
Makes me wish it was your call~

Am I falling in love??

When all I am doing in my head
Is thinking up all your flaws,

And just loving you all the
More for them,
Be it big or small~

Am I falling in love??

All I feel is a hunger
For your company,
A thirst for your sight

And being an eternity
With you sounds
Like no time at all.

A Battle Worth Fighting For

My friend Helen,
Loves life and all the
Pain and cruelty that life has to offer,

One tries to fight for a cause,
Some for rewards to the mind and body,
Some for a better future for the lives they created,
Some because they don't know how to do anything else,

But Helen is a knight wearing a rusty armor,
Who battled the very foe,
That threatened her life,

She didn't give up,
Didn't lie down and surrender to the angel of death,
She fought that curse known as Hepatitis C,
So she could have a normal life
Like the rest of us,
A life that sometimes we hate and despise,
And sometimes goes unappreciated by us
Those who live it without fear,

A life full of uncertainties,
Mysteries, disappointments,
Sad and rainy days,
Days in which a dream is crushed like a bug,
By the stampede of reality,

Days in which she might have to hold someone,
For the last time as they pass away their last breath,

Days in which she might have to make
A hard decision that could end a vulnerable friendship.

She fought for the lonely nights
When she would long for a friend,

For the sweet nights when,
The pleasures would be too much to contain,

She fought so she could save her soul
From dying before it could fully bloom
So it could feel alive and free in this earthly prison,

She fought so she could stay alive
In this battle we call life, to fight another day,

Can you imagine a more noble cause
For a fight??
We breathe in air,
Sometimes we need to breathe in life
Because it is precious indeed

Aftermath of A Love Story

I'll sing you lullabies
when you have trouble sleeping my love,

I'll rearrange your hair,
when everything seems to be disordered in your life,

I'll even swallow my pride when you accuse
me of something I didn't do,

but I won't stop you when you want
to be with another...

I'll put my shawl around you,
so the wind blowing does not feel too chilly
to you,

I'll whisper a few sweet little lies
I spent the whole day making up,
when the truth hurts too much,

I'll even crush my disappointments,
with my bloodied hands,
when they cut through me like a knife,

but I won't call your name
as you walk away toward the rainbow
that'd color up your life....
