Beginning of discussion to establish packet
radio organization in Thailand took place in 1996 after receinving the
temporary licence from the authority rquested by RAST .Having
several consulting,the agreement has come into the resolution to
set up Packet Radio Group of Thailand initiated by Somlak Wan-yo,HS4DOR
and Isres Jindanon,HS0XNO in January9,1997 and Khun Krissana
Chuanpan,E21NMS,Khun Surachet Ketmuti,HS0OOP came in to
joint later on. |

The objective of PGOT is to promote
and develope digital communication in Thailand especially packet radio
- Packet radio training
- Providing packet radio
domumentation assiting the amateur radio throughout the country.

Assisting amateur club,group and society to
establish packet radio network in Thailand

Coordinating with international amateur digital
commuinity in about promotion and training

1997-2000,there are several activities
proformed by PGOT such as
- Assitance from USA

Asking for assitance from Larry
Kenney,WB9LOZ and his group for his "Introduction to Packet
Radio"to translate into Thai for the amateur radio in Thailand to
study.more over he also allowed us to get all the other packet radio
document to translate into Thao too.In the name of amateur radio in
Thailand,let 's express thakful feeling to him and his group from USA
here.

Assiting from BayCom: in 1999,we kindly got
the assistacne from BayCom Group,Germany by the
president;Dr.J.Kneip,DG3RBU granted the permission to PGOT to copy
Baycom modem ans software for PGOT member and also the translation the
manual into Thai Langluage in August 15,1999.This can help Thai amateur
radio a lot in promotion under economic crisis pressure.This helpful
asstance will be in memory of all PGOT members and the amateur radio in
Thailand for ever.

- PRNT:Packet Radio Network of
Thailand:Initiative to establish Packet Radio Network of Thailand has
begun on June 1999 by Khun Krissana Chuanpan,E21NMS and his group to set
up packet radio network throughtout the country under limited every own
private buget becuase PGOT has no money to help.The expansion
considerably continue.

- PGOT internet website has been created by Khun Surached Ketmuti,HS0OOP
by an own budget to act as center point for the members and interesting public
to contact with PGOT and also being the store of digital knowledge for all.
Now PGOT web site is wellknown to everyone in Thailand and international contact
in both Thai language and English

In The year 1999,Pgot web site has been changed from http://www
pgot.cjb.net into http://www.pgot.org and served as the medium of
packet radio exchange between all the memebers throughout the country since then.

|
PGOT at present is in the period of taking off under
ecomomic crisis storm demands not only for good captain and pilot but also
all of passengers ( all of amateur radio in Thailand) to take
participating in this field of packet radio development in Thailand.The
benefit will be the fruitful amateur radio developtment. |

After long struggling for 5 years,the post&telegraph Department
has legally accepted packet radio operation in Thailand by issuing the new band plan included the
packet radio activity in ch.other acvitiry operation in February 27,2001. |
