Roster Moves

Team Roster and lineup moves are due into the commissioner by 4:00 PM Eastern Time, if no lines, i will just use computer lines.

GMs are responsible for making roster adjustments for injured players. If an injured player who can't play is still in a team's lineup, then I will call the highest overalled player in that position from the farm team to fill that need until you change it, this can result in fast signing of players on your farm team so make sure you check regularly.

League Files

  1. Open Eastside Hockey Manager and start a new game.
  2. Save the game as HSHL and exit Eastside Hockey manager
  3. Download game files.
  4. Extract contents into the saved game folder of your Eastside Hockey Manager directory. Example c:\program files\eastside hockey manager\saves\
  5. Open Eastside Hockey Manager and load the hshl saved game from the list.
  6. Repeat steps 3 to 5 to update league files.

Submiting Lines

Lines should be submited as EHM generated lns files. The naming of these files is important as they all get thrown into a directory and a file called "lines.lns" isn't clearly associated with a team. Please call them TeamShortForm_ProOrFarm.lns. For example "SJfarm.lns" and "SJpro.lns".

It is mandatory that the files be zipped. Please, zip the 2 files in 1 archive that includes a name that distinguishes your team. 30 downloads is preferable to 60.

Salary Cap

The Hardcore Style Hockey League has a Salary Cap for each team.

The salary cap was implemented to even the playing field and increase competition between GMs. Each gm has there own salary cap and hshl won't have 1 specific cap for each team.

If your team is over the Salary Cap you will:
  1. Not be able to resign any of your players or any UFA
  2. You will not be able to trade for players that would increase your salary, only decrease it.
  3. If your team is Over the Salary Cap by the time the trade deadline is over then you will lose a player around the same salary as your over, he will be released to free agency to be bid on.

FA Signings

-Free Agent signings are to be done by email during the off season with he commissioner setting a bidding window in which all teams can submit bids with UFA and RFA interested in signing with their team.

Procedure:

  1. Check to see if there's a thread started for the player you're interested in.
  2. If there's not a thread already started, start one - FULL NAME as the subject & all contract offer details included.

note: You do not have to post an offer to an RFA - unless the RFA rights are owned by another team.

UFA Bidding Rules:

  1. Any team over the cap can't offer contracts to any players. This rule is not in use for the off season where the winning of multiple bids may put a team over the cap, a team that goes over the cap in the off season will have until the end of preseason to get back under.
  2. Any offer which puts a team over the cap is not acknowledged.
  3. Highest bid gets the right to make the offer on the player. In the case where more than 1 team makes the maximum bid - worse team gets the right to bid on that player
  4. Bid amount is total contract value (bonus + salary X years)
  5. Subsequent bids must match or increase salary.
  6. For any bid of a salary of 5 million or more - the number of years must be more than one (not including option years).
  7. To make an offer to a UFA, you need to have the cash on hand for the bonus.

Trade Submission Guidelines

One the GMs of the teams involved in the trade posts the trade in the TC Forum - this message should include:

note: Please make sure players are signed before you decide to trade them, You cannot trade players unless they're signed. Prospects are an exception.

The trade committee will then vote on the trade.

Trade Committee Process

3 TC Members must accept the trade for it to be passed.

- If I see that trading between a GM and an other is becoming unfair then that GM will be kicked out of the league after being warned for the first time.

Trade Committee Voting Guidelines:

The trade committee is here to insure league fairness, to make sure all gms have a fun time, and that more experienced gm's aren't making lopsided trades with rookie gm's.

The trade committee aim is to ensure the integrity of all 30 organizations long term.

All league members are required to respect each TC members vote and flaming and/or abuse in relation to a TC vote will not be tolerated.

Please refrain from bringing it up on the boards. Or starting a poll. Address it in private.

Finally, If you have a problem with another gm send the league an email, a gm harassing you on MSN, send a screen shot in and he will be deal with.
