9/98 FYI: I thought I would take this opportunity to let everyone know about a wonderful kitchen appliance store I recently discovered.
| My husband and I were shopping for kitchen appliances, and we were disappointed with the lack of choices (and amount of competition) in the area, especially since Lechmere left. Luckily, through a random reference on the internet my husband found a family owned store in Melrose called Hugo's which was given a glowing recommendation. It looks a little like a dump from the outside, but we found that their prices were very competitive with Circuit City, Sears, and Home Depot, yet the salespeople are MUCH more knowledgeable, honest, and friendly. They also have a very large selection (and can order anything even if you don't see it on the floor) and they even deliver for free. I think they have been around for over 30 years, and they are part of a national price club which allows them their very low prices and large selection. We bought 3 major appliances and found that each was cheaper than in any of the other above mentioned stores, and we were very impressed with their knowledge. Plus, color and delivery are free, and they even helped us to assemble the appliance (for free) and provided a plumber (for a cost).
